I'd be interested to see how you'd sort out differences with people
whose differences begin with the planet they live on :-)

OK So the alternative is to call for the CFV to be rescinded so that there
is nothing to fall out about.

I'd prefer that option to the current flood of messages neither for nor
against the new group, but simply carrying on some old battles on neutral
territory.

Is there a process to remove the CFV on the ground of unlikely success in
the actual organisation and running of the proposed new group given the
current level of animosity?

You've not checked the history then. The most prolific poster to the
group uk.rec.cycling every month for the last year has been someone
who does not cycle, knows little or nothing about cycling, but is
unwilling to tolerate even the most obvious factual errors being
corrected. This person's spite and obsessive grudge-bearing over a
period of more than a year has been cited as the main reason for
leaving the group by several former members, all of whom are missed.

These days uk.rec.cycling is effectively dead. Some people want
uk.rec.cycling.moderated, some disagree, and some simply want to dance
on the corpse of the group they killed.

Yes thank you Guy - keep up the good work - here's a reminder of it:

Guy Chapman nym-shifted to Lou Knee in order to call someone a shit.
He was caught out by the evidence of the IP address he used.
He has "implied" that it was not himself - but refuses to answer the simple question:
"Guy Chapman: Did you make the Lou Knee post?"
He is despicable - on this evidence you should not believe *anything* he says.

Now don't be shy - you have missed off your contributions:

You - know: people to telling you to ignore posts and posters you
did not like.
People telling you to stop trying to wind up certain other posters.
You ignoring the advice.
You posting as Lou Knee - just to call someone a shit.
people telling you to stop what you were doing.
You ignoring the advice.
People warning you that you were killing the group.
You ignoring that advice.
