BT webspace
I've been with BTInternet a while; they're a lot better than my
previous ISP but I can't get much sense out of them re webspace. Do
they actually provide it?
What I want is to create a small site - less than half a megabye -
with a pointer to my main site.
How do I do this and can I use ftp?
Thanks

I just asked Emma [1], and she said:
You asked me:
Does BT Broadband come with personal web space?
My answer is:
BT Broadband comes with your own personal webspace. To access this, you
just need to sign into the Geocities area on BT Yahoo! There's a handy
wizard to help you get started, or you can create your own website
using HTML.

You're referring to the old name of "BT Internet" as it was originally, but
since then it's been called BT Openworld, BT Yahoo! and currently BT
Broadband. This is relevant because if you really have been with them since
the days of BT Internet, you should have 50MB of unrestricted webspace on
their own servers allocated to you.
If however, you only joined when it was BT Yahoo!, you will have 15MB of
webspace allocated on Geocities servers that is restricted to a bandwidth
limit of just 4Mb per hour.
Best place to ask is their own "closed" (not viewable if you're not using BT
as your ISP) newsgroups - bt.internet.users.homepage.authoring,
bt.internet.users.broadband.technical and bt.broadband.support

You would be as well getting your own domain with some web space.
That way your web address will stay the same even if you change ISP.
We are doing 10MB with a domain for £1 for the first year.

Re: BT webspace
For some reason I can't sign in or sign up with Geocities. The program
keeps asks me to sign in then doesn't let me.
Anyone have the same problem? Or better still the cure?

I'm still using webspace that was provided by BTInternet (one a
hangover from BTAnytime which I converted to PAYG) and the other one
from a PAYG and I have a re-direction from a domain with 123 which
works fine for a small society I am involved with.
I ftp to ftp.btinternet.com and login with my username/password as
used for my email.
The site address becomes www.btinternet/~yourusername
