Recommendation for a PVR for the Mother-In-Law?
....No, not to swap however if the offer's right... ;-)

When it comes to the techy side of life the MIL often asks me for
assistance and I'm able to give it however in the case of PVRs I'm
afraid it's one technology I just haven't got involved with (yet)... I
don't seem to have the time to watch any TV nevermind record a ton of
it for later viewing!

Anyway, I'd be very grateful for some help and advice regarding
recommending a PVR for her based on the following criteria which I
believe will be the most relevent factors:

1) It must have a built-in DVD player (primarily for playing rental
DVDs)
2) She'd like to pause live-TV - presumably this means a HDD-based
model? (see - that's how ignorant I am!)
3) *Possibly* with built-in terrestrial receiver (she's got NTL cable
and hence may well want to record one channel (terrestrial) whilst
watching another (cable) (or vice versa)). Given the cable TV, twin
tuners probably not required and indeed Freeview not a necessity,
although possibly a bonus.
3) Simple to use/understand
4) Value for money (and ideally not too expensive either)

That's probably about it, unless of course you can suggest any
ommision(s)?

Any suggestions/recommendations? They'd be gratefully received...

Mathew
