Newbie - advice requested, please
Thought the concept of a pvr was great and started to look around, found
great comments about the Topfield pvr, checked out the specs before buying
one (thank goodness) BUT - it appears from the blurb I've read that it will
not (cannot?) record from an external scart input - eg Telewest box or Sky
box? so it would seem to be totally useless as far as recording output from
my Sky box? Looking further into other available models it seems this is a
common trait with pvr's inasmuch as all the ones' I have been looking at
purchasing (to replace the vcr) have the same situation.

Have I misunderstood something here, or is this the case?

Before anyone asks - there are quite a few channels on Sky unobtainable on
Freeview.

Looks like keeping the vcr until this apparent shortcoming is sorted - or is
it me who has misunderstood??

I find the thought that a device (pvr) would be introduced into the market
that exhibits this great gap to be quite stunning!!!

Please advise
