Humax PVR 9200-T Media e-Linker
I wanted to upload some recordings from my PVR 9200-T this weekend, but
find that the CD which should have been shipped with it is missing!
I've looked at the Humax site and can't find a link to download the
Media e-Linker app; does anyone know if there's one tucked away
somewhere?

Excellent, thanks! That installed the application, but the text file
containing the instructions for use was absent from the zipfile -- is
that also tucked away seomwhere on that site, perhaps?

It's an htm (71kb) page on my CD. If you can let me know your e-mail
address I'll mail you a copy.

Thanks, Michael -- I've e-mailed you to follow this up.

Re: Humax PVR 9200-T Media e-Linker
My first attempt at uploading recordings to my PC was not particularly
successful, but perhaps someone here could provide some tips for me.
I succeeded in connecting to the Humax using Media e-Linker, and the
device directory in the right-hand window showed two directories, Image
and MP3, both empty. I assume these are for storing .JPG and .MP3 files
respectively. I was hoping to see the list of recordings I'd made in
some recognizable format, but failed to do so. I downloaded a 4MB .MP3
file to the Humax to test the transfer ability, and that appeared to
succeed with the filename appearing in the MP3 directory.
When I disconnected from the PC and reconnected to the TV my recordings
were still present (phew!) and when I selected MP3 from the Record menu
I could see the downloaded audio file, but couldn't find a way to play
it. Worryingly, there was no duration time showing for the file.
Does any of this sound familiar? What am I missing here? And should I
be asking these questions of the Humax support folk rather than in this
group?

You are indeed missing something :-)
When you've succeeded in connecting, you'll notice a littledrop down pick
box displaying D1 on the right of the Window in e-Linker just above the New,
abc, trashcan and refresh icons. Click the downward facing arrow and set to
D2. You should see all your programmes. It looks like the drive is
partitioned into two virtual disks.

Thanks - the frustrating thing is that I did see that D1 / D2 dropdown
once or twice when I first managed to connect, but it's no longer
appearing; I thought that may be the answer to accessing the
recordings, but without the ability to select D2 I'm stuck! The other
funny thing is that the status message on connection sometimes says
USB2.0 and sometimes USB1.1, and when it says USB2.0 I get an
auto-disconnect after a few seconds. I think I'll have to get onto
Humax support for this one ...

Make sure the USB lead isn't too long, and also make sure it is a proper USB
2.0 lead. Poor screening etc... might make a supposed USB 2.0 lead somewhat
less than perfect and this *might* be the cause of your problem.

Thanks, Nick. Well, I selected a 1.8 m Belkin USB 2.0 cable for this
purpose, so I don't think it can be that. I'll try a reinstall, and if
I stll get problems I'll phone Humax support.

Hi Matti
Yes, your cable should be fine. It's branded and not excessively long. Good
luck with the reinstall.
