DVD recorder/HDD/VCR
Although I am in the trade, I would appreciate a bit help with the
following:
A customer of mine likes to have every option available to him for
recording etc and still likes to do some editing and creating of home
movies with a VCR. Until now has had a panasonic VCR with editing
facilities and audio dubbing facilities. and a Panasonic DVD.HDD
recorder, a Sky Plus box, a 42" tv, Pioneer amplifier and surround
sound system, CD recorder, twin audio cassette recorder, DAB and FM
tuner, record deck and connections from his computer for sound and to
use the TV as a monitor !

Over the years he has set me many challenges re interconnections, as
you can immagine but we ended up with almost all options covered and
quite neatly, even if I do say so myself !!
This is not to say that he can use any of it fully, by the way.

At the moment he is still certain that he does not want to use the
computer as his only methid of video editing and audio dubbing.
The problem is that both his VCR and the DVD/HDD recorder have now
failed and he has come to me for advice.

I specialise in installation etc and don't do much editing myself so:
My question is: would the Panasonic top of the range VCR/DVDR/HDDR
machine be able to give him the facilities that he needs, including
audio dubbing and clean edits. It probably wouldn't matter which part
of the machine would be used for the editing so long as copies could
be made across to the DVD and VCR sections as required.

The other option would seem to be the very comprehensive and
impressive-looking, top of the range Pioneer DVDR/HDD combi (expensive)
(is that able to do good editing?) and for me to service his Panasonic
editing VCR to get a bit more life from it.

Please dont suggest that all this is best done on the computer, I know
that and so does he really, but he still wants to do it the other
way.

Thanks
