Humax PVR9200T
Forgive me if i'm in the wrong NG , if so could anyone direct me to the
right one, I have a PVR 9300T and it has a slot on the front for extra
channels as well as the freeview ones already on it. My question is does
anyone in the group know of a list of subscribers I can use for this and I
believe there is a 5 gig partition on there that allows me to put mp3s and
digital photograps on but the usb port on there looks to be a small
conection does anyone know of the lead that it needs and is there anywhere
I can purchase it please. I have been in touch with Humax but they say they
are only responsible for the sales . TIA

Seems such a shame to break up all the M15 bullshit with discussion about a
PVR, anyone would think was a PVR NG...
Yes strange as this may seem at the moment, you are on the right group.
I'm sure a Humax owner will be along in a while to help you out.

The slot in the front is a Conditional Access Module slot into which
you insert a piece of hardware that looks like a PC card. You can
then put a Top-Up TV card or a Setanta card into the CAM. Don't get
too excited about the Top-Up TV option as only the old and rapidly
dwindling Top-Up TV linear service is supported - for Top-Up TV
Anytime you need Top-Up TV's own PVR.

Yes, there is a reserved area onto which you can copy your own files.

The USB port is a standard B-type connector. So you need a normal USB
A to B cable. The A end is flat and plugs into your computer and the B end
is squarish and plugs into the PVR.

The slot is for a CAM http://www.boxsat.com/
This is for connecting a subscription with Top up TV http://www.topup.tv/
Your headers indicate you are a virginmedia poster.
Virgin/NTL via cable already supply everything that TopUpTv do and more
besides.
The USB connection is a standard 4 pin, your PC will have standard 6 pin
(The additional 2 pin would be the power supply for external devices)
Just purchase the appropriate USB cable, if you're wary of making wrong
choice, just tell salesperson it is for humax-PC connection - they will
know.
The Humax menu's are intuitive, it is straightforward to import/export
MP3's.

Just a minor point - and it doesn't actually make any difference to the gist
of your message but the two types of USB connector, A and B both have just 4
pins - two of which are the power pins. I think you're probably getting
confused with firewire which does have a 6 pin version where the 2 extra
pins are indeed for power.

Also, I would suggest telling the salesman that you want a A-plug to B-plug
cable. I'm not sure how much they are in the shops, I get mine from CPC
where a 5 metre one costs about £2.00.
