Satellite alternarive
I was in my local Maplin today and they appeared to have end of line /
discontinued satellite boxes on sale. Is there a similar thing which I could
connect to my existing Sky digi dish which would allow me to watch other
channels in another room without my having to reposition the dish? I have a
quad output LNB and a spare cable run into my conservatory.
Thanks in advance.

You can certainly use another digital receiver from your quad LNB to
pick up the free to view channels. All BBC and ITV (all regions) and
many more channels plus all radio. You can find out which channels are
free by tacking the card out of your Sky box and stepping through the
channels to see which ones work. You will not get Ch4 or Ch 5 as they
need a card and use the conditional access system in a true Sky box
although technically they are free to view.
You will find that the menus of non-Sky boxes are rather more
complicated and the programme guide is limited to Now and Next but
it's generally ok and gives much more choice than Freeview.
