I bought a 120Gb hard drive pre-formatted to work in a TiVo from
www.pacelink.co.uk and noted down all my Season Passes from the old one first
(it is possible to transfer such data as well as programmes from the old hard
drive but it would be such a faff so it was just easier to watch the remaining
programmes you haven't seen yet and make a list of the passes)

Re: Tivo hard drive upgrade
I upgraded last weekend to a 250gb on a U.K. series 1 Tivo using a brilliant
piece of software called Hooch from http://www.tivoheaven.co.uk . it was
very simple and very cheap, if you have any spare hard drives you can just
use one of them and you should be up and running in about 20 mins.
If you dont have a network card for the Tivo it may be worth getting one and
installing it at the same time from the same place.

A great place for information about upgrading Tivo and all sorts of
tweaks is the UK section on the tivocommunity website
http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=14
lots of really helpful people and links to loads of resources on the
web.
When I upgraded mine (some years ago now), I followed Steve Conrad's
excellent advice at
http://www.steveconrad.co.uk/tivo/index.html
HTH and good luck

I bought a 120Gb hard drive pre-formatted to work in a TiVo from
www.pacelink.co.uk and noted down all my Season Passes from the old one first
(it is possible to transfer such data as well as programmes from the old hard
drive but it would be such a faff so it was just easier to watch the remaining
programmes you haven't seen yet and make a list of the passes)
