Stopping the $KY Mag?
Is there a way to stop the $KY mag?

I never read it! it just ends up in the recycle bin!

Ditto. And it's a PITA having to separate the recyclable paper from the
plastic bag in which it is delivered.

Well don't bother then because your council is probably like ours. Here we
all painstakingly separate our rubbish because separated rubbish is what
gets the council its team point from the EEC. But there's no ECC rule to say
how the council disposes of it, so they pay a contractor to take it away.
The contractor tips it all in the same landfill (in the next borough).

ITYF that would result in landfill tax finding its way back up the
chain with appropriate crocodile tears from your local authority's
opposition. "It all goes in the same hole" seems to be commonly
dismissed as an urban myth by many councils, in many cases possibly
started by someone seeing everything going into the same vehicle but
not realising that separation of "rubbish" from "salvage" occurs
either at that stage (using different compartments in the vehicle) or
later (there are some fairly posh combined recycling/rubbish
processing plants around, some of which ISTR are designed to work
better with everything in the same bin).

Just phone up $ky, ask them and they'll stop sending it.

Have a look at the history of this in the Doncaster Free Press.

If you are talking about the "Whats the point of recycling" article it
looks like Donny aren't yet geared up for doing it properly and
presumably living on borrowed time if they aren't being penalised
already. OTOH it doesn't necessarily mean that their system has not
got any intervention between collection and final disposal which might
cause diversion of some materials away from tipping.

The tenuous on-topic connection seems to be a "partnership" with ECT
Recycling whose web site leads to the Dartmoor Railway and RMS
Locotec.

Which isn't, as I'm not posting to uk.railway. :-(

Our recycling takes a slow boat to China for sorting and turning into
something cheap and vaguely useful.
