Possible Samsung Box Failure?
It's happened only twice but after our bad experiences with Sky boxes (five
miniboxes, six Thomsons previous to this Samsung box), I've become sensitive
to foulups:

Having left the box on without watching (always in the afternoon, and
whether a recording is being done or not), I can't get it to respond to the
remote. Yes, I've changed the batteries. Won't even shut off via the
console's controls. Only resolution comes by unplugging and plugging the
power cord back in.

If it happens one more time I'm going to toggle off the standby setting and
see what occurs. Has anyone else with a Samsung box had this happen?

Thx.

Hi
I recently was provided with a brand new Samsung Sky HD box following 3
previous Thomson boxes. Last week my shiny new Samsung was in standby but
would not respond to any remote commands to power up. Just like you I ended
up unplugging it from the mains and back in again! It worked ok afterwards
but I subsequently had a failed recording a couple of days later due to a
"power cut". There wasn't any power cut that I was aware of as I was at home
at the time the recording was made.
