Hard Drive in Sky+ box
I can replace a hard drive in a computer but I've never seen the inside
of a Sky+ box. Mine is very hot on the left hand side and is making a
noise like a fan running. Is the hard drive there? If so how do I
replace it, format it etc, anything else to get it to work. All advice
greatfully received.

Open Sky box and you'll see the HDD. It's a regular 3.5"IDE job. Jumper
the new one the same as the old one, fire it up and go into Services,
4,0,1, Select and select the option to format it.

Bet it still gets hot and makes a noise like a fan running, though.

As I've just joined this group in the last few days, am I a soothsayer

What you are supposed to be when considering a new group is a lurker, that
brings you up to speed with what's happening before you join the discussion.
