Recording Sky Sports from Red Button Option
On a Sky+ box how can you record a match on Sky Sports that is
available on the red button?

When using the sky planner there is no option yet the match is being
advertised on sky sports.

Press the Red Button which takes you to the planner and highlights the
event then press the Record button and you'll see a R symbol appear
next to it.

Is the first step from the sky tv guide screen or when the event is
actually on?

First step.

Goes like this...

See the trailer for the event on TV with the red button for it on the
screen and press the red button as it tells you.

It then takes you to the planner/epg and shows the epg entry for the
event.

You then press the record button and it'll put the record symbol next
to it.

Re: Recording Sky Sports from Red Button Option
I have only seen it advertised on screen in a tv program without the
red icon appearing at the top right of the screen.

Ah...it's a case of having to wait until it goes on the EPG a week
before it's due to come on.

Sadly, you can't use the Sky+ hard drive to record "additional"
programming.

This a;so applies to any other programming with a "select screen" option
(such as Wimbledon tennis on BBC).

The only way to record such matches is to select the required screen -
then use an external device (such as a VCR recorder) to make an attended
recording.
