Sky+ ticking noise
I have a Thomson Sky+ digibox (installed August 2007). We have noticed a
ticking noise over the past few months but originally thought it was the
central heating. However today I heard the noise again and the central
heating wasn't on. I checked all my AV boxes and discovered the ticking was
emanating from the right hand side of the Sky+ digibox. Does anyone know
what it could be? Could it be a premature hard drive failure (bearings
going)?

TIA

A Sky+ box is a personal video recorder designed by Sky.

I reckon it's either a fan or the hard drive, but I don't know if they'll
send someone out just because it's "ticking" and not actually failed.

...but that's not important right now. And stop calling me Shirley.

Re: Sky+ ticking noise
Hi,

In my experience (IT) it is a sign that the harddrive is on it's way out.
If you have any recordings that you want to watch/keep I would copy then to
your vcr.
