Unused LNB outlets - should they be terminated?
eg with somthing like ebay 160150464922?

No, I'm not associated with that company in any way.

I noticed that the people installing a satellite system in the local
community centre has used an 8 port LNB - but has 3 unused outlets just
left bare.

I would have expected them to be taped water-tight - but should they
also be terminated?

Is it worth getting them back, or will it be ok as it is?

No, the LNB is designed to work fine without unused outputs terminated, but
do keep them covered to prevent corrosion of the threads for the event you
want to employ them in the future. Unlike LNB outputs, the unused outputs
of passive splitters (power dividers) should be terminated to have the
device operate within specifications.

Thanks, Tony.

If leaving things as they are doesn't affect the reliability, but only
the future expansion possibilities, I guess things will be left as they
are. I wouldn't imagine that their contract included future expansion
capability.
