SKY/BBC HD on other transponders?
Can anybody give me some pointers please.
My concern is BBC/ITV HD being broadcast into Europe, on anything
other, than the ASTRA2D satellite. For my business, it is important
that no normal BBC or ITV channels (including HD), be broardcast on a
satellite, that makes it easy for people outside of the UK, to receive
these channels free of charge. I would have also thought, it would be
the same for UK TV license fee payers, to expect the same. Can anybody
tell me, if any of the mainstream BBC/ITV channels (Inc. HD) are
projected to be launched, from any other transponders than on the
ASTRA2D satellite?

I wonder if the freesat boxes will include some decrypt for HD and those SD
channels that aren't FTA ???

Ask the broadcasters themselves.
BBC News is currently on Astra 2A. All BBC channels have been free of
charge even though they were not on 2D -- they were encrypted at the
time, but no subscription payment was required.

So what's your business? Reselling BBC HD to Europeans?

Why should we care, seems very strange suggestion, why would someone
viewing the BBC in France be any concern - they are hardly evading the
TV license fee as they have never been required to pay it.

As long as the correct rights clearances are paid by the broadcasters
how and were they broadcast to is none of your f*cking business -
can't make money - your into the wrong business, and if that business
is reselling viewing cards you are on very thin ice indeed (probably
why you are asking here and not asking the broadcasters direct!)...

On the contrary, mate. I watch loads of French and German PSB telly and
bits of others from around Europe, all FTA. All they get in return is
the heavily news-orientated BBC World (now rebranded BBC World News).
If the UK FTA PSB services were easier to receive on the continent so
that Johnie Foreigner could receive them as easliy as I do theirs
instead of shelling out to some anonymous profiteering middleman I'd be
as happy as Larry, who is rolling around on the floor in a state of
delerium as I type.
And the noun is licence with two cees, in this neck of the woods.
