In the shadow of the moon
Went to see this documentary today at the National Media Museum. I'm
not sure if it's on general release or not, and it will probably be
screened by Film 4 before very long. However, if you get the chance to
see it on the big screen, it's well worth the effort.

It went on general release in early Nov. Went to see it on opening night in
Norwich. There were 3 people including me. It is a stunning film. I never
knew Buzz Aldrin stopped on the ladder to pee. Can't wait for DVD to come
out. Then borrow a projector and put it on the wall of my house. This film
deserves to be seen BIG.

In which case the showing I attended was positively packed. Must have
been a dozen of us at least.

Oh how we forget.
Well, we don't I mean everybody else. Sigh.

Re: In the shadow of the moon
Its on again at the national media museum tonight. I went to the films
website (http://www.itsotm.com) and it has a list of showings but they
seem to be out of date. Check your local arty cinema it will probably
be on there.
On the issue of lack of interest, its just a sign of the times. The
60's were a time of great optimism with Concorde, Apollo etc. Now it
seems that the accountants are in charge and the politicians have no
sense of adventure. The people don't need these grand projects anymore
when they can sit in front of brain rotting reality TV.
Rant over ...
P.S. I'll be glued to the ultimate reality TV show starting at about
T-20 on Thursday night for two weeks. My household gets quite
sarcastic when the computer runs non-stop NASA TV when the shuttle
launches until it touches down. They just need to understand that it
is good for them.

When I was born no one alive had walked on the moon. There's a
depressingly good chance that by the time I die no one alive will have
walked on the moon.

Gee - thanks for the downer man; as if it wasn't depressing enough already
with the weather...
Still, look on the bright side - jet packs and flying cars will be along any
minute!

Re: In the shadow of the moon
According to some, anyone alive at 50 today will be alive to 150, so,
we'll have a good chance of someone walking on Mars!
Ever the optimistic.
