Retro-Future: To The Stars!
Found the link below via slashdot ... Check out these soviet and other
retro visions of space travel. There must be one of these that someone
can make into a cool looking rocket.

Some great stuff there. Saw it on Slashdot this morning, but you beat
me in posting it here!

Clicking on the above link gets me a dark screen with no content (My
god, it's not full of stars!), at the public internet facilities that
I use. Can anyone advise me how to access what sounds like very
interesting content. I note reference to "Slashdot". I'm not
familiar with this resource; do I need access to this for the link
posted? Any advice/help on this will be much appreciated.
Yours ever, John B.

John,
It does seem to start black but then redraws to present loads of
pictures of retro rocket designs. Maybe its just an issue at the
moment you looked at it. Try again but give it some time.
On the subject of slashdot it is required reading for the geeks
amongst us full of latest IT news but other stuff geeks are interested
in like space travel. You can find it at www.slashdot.org. To really
join the digerati you refer to it as /.
Cheers,
Phil

Thanks Phil. Will re-try as you suggest. As regards the digerati,
every time that the latest outing of the revered Mr. Max Headroom
comes on in tv ad breaks advising us all to get ready for the coming
switch over to all digital tv transmission (analogue to ashes) I am
reduced to hysterics - I think that it's hilarious. I'm afraid that
people may have to suffer me qouting and mis-quoting it from now until
and at IRW 2008! Incidentally, recalling David Cameron's recent
remark about Gordon Brown being "an analogue Prime Minister in a
digital age", does this mean that when the analogue signal is switched
off it will be impossible to transmit the image and words of Gordon
Brown on TV and Radio? (Please Note: This attempt at a joke is made
without politacal prejudice to anyone.)
Yours ever,
John.

Meh - Max Headroom wasn't funny back when he was edgy and now in the mid
80's, although "his" breaking into the broadcasts of two Chicago TV stations
in late 87 was damn amusing ;)

I have a few digits that Mr. Brown is welcome to...
