public enemy V2 help please
Greetings
I have a 3" Public Enimy V2 which I baught without instructions. Does
anyone know where its CofP woud be or if it needs any nose weight? I'm
sure I could sim it but if the knowledge is out there I'd be gratefull.
BTW its 36" tall, wights about a pound + motor and recovery kit. If you
find the instructions on the public enimy web site your a better googeler
than I !
Thanks

Why not work it out? Rocksim, Spacecad or VCP will do it for you if
you don't feel like hitting Barrowman yourself.

Or just get the rocksim file for the 4" version off EMRR - it's all
proportional innit ;)

I bought my kit last century, so perhaps my instructions are out of
date; but here are scans:
http://tinyurl.com/2b3xxq
http://tinyurl.com/2zcnpq
http://tinyurl.com/2lfrsd
To directly answer your question, the instructions state that the CG is
44" from the top of the nose cone. Yes, it says the CG is there (not the
CP). The instructions go on to warn that you should add "sufficient nose
weight in front of the CG" depending on motor size. A bit confusing.
Anyway, back in that last century I RockSim'd it and got a CP
(Barrowman) at 47.5".

Can I trust the kit designer to scale accuratly of could he take liberties
and use convinient sizes?

Re: public enemy V2 help please
Halam,
I got the other 3" V2 off of Ebay so I will be doing a VCP for it at some
point. I would be very wary of sclaing the CP from another V2 - even a PE
kit or even relying on the 3" kit instructions. If yours is exactly the same
as mine you will find the model is very unscale and the fins have more
trailing edge sweep than the real V2 - also the kit is longer than scale due
to the long Ace nose cones the kit uses.
I can let you have the VCP data once I sim it but I can't see it being for a
month or two given my other commitments at the moment.

I did rocksim on the built rockit, and got 3 CofPs because Rocksim has a
choice of three algorithums
Barrowman 16.6"
Rocksim 20.6"
Cardbaord Cutout, way to far aft, nonsence reult.
Flight details approx 5-600' on an F and 4 sec delay is about right.
Remeber our discussion about the accuracy of Rocksim when fins are applied

Thanks for that information - I'll still do a VCP once I get time - it is
likely to be more dodgey than Rocksim with the fin shape and transition but
additional data can't do any harm.
