Disappointment at Newhaven incinerator plans

I think that: The construction of an incinerator at Newhaven should not have been given the go-ahead, particularly given that it cost double the original estimate.
Because: This is a missed opportunity to move away from outdated technology to cheaper, more modern and far more environmentally friendly methods of waste disposal. The extension of the contract comes at a vast cost to the taxpayer. I am very concerned too that this major decision was taken by both councils in an apparently covert way.
