Virgin1 - audio interference
So I'm sat at home today not feeling too good (man flu) and flicking
through the channels I thought I'd give Star Trek:enterprise. There's
an interference on the audio almost like static 'clicking'. Most
annoying to the point where I can't really enjoy the programme. Any
ideas? Problem at source? No other channels seem thus affected.

But Virgin1 is fine...... I've bunged 'em an email anyway just to
see if anything happens.

Strangely enough I played an Ell Pee today for the first time in ages.

An anthem for today's world of fruitless Google searches?

The broadcast on all those backwater channel is pretty dodgy. Half of
the audio is missing. When I got an Audio Description TV I found it on
the AD channel, which is not quite synchonised with the main audio and
some of the shared stuff like 'beeps' gets echoed. Then the adverts
sometimes just duplicate the audio cause a continual echo.
I don't know if its a licence condition or more likely they have just
got the wrong connections coming from the playout equipment.
They are also heavily compressed, my Sony TV gets this delayed face
following thing. In the dark scenes peoples faces are a bit delayed
their head.

Maybe the editors have run out of ideas for "visual" interference, and
are expanding their repertoire.
