Latest television monitor display technologies to hit the shelves
Back on to topic of digital television, what do the group's newsreaders
consider to be the the superior technology of cutting edge monitors?

Weighing in at the hefty price of USD 6999, reminiscent of early model
plasma televisions which cost as much as a small automobile, there is the
Mitsubish Electric laser television

65 inches (soon to be available in 73 inches size as well) and full 1080p
display.

At a more modest price of USD 2499.99 (namely one cent less than
USD 2500) is the SONY XEL-1

using organic light emitting diode technology (no backlight necessary)
which is available only in an 11 inch size and resolution of
960 x 540 (NOT native 1080p) but weighs a mere 1,9 kg.

Obviously the price per square inch of display of the SONY is
very much higher than that of the Mitsubishi.

So because they have been available to the public for 3 years, does that
mean that they are no longer cutting edge technology as described in my
question?
