A Bush SD Freesat Question
I bought a Bush SD Freesat receiver a couple
of weeks ago - fifty quid from Argos.
I then got out the list of transponders at 28.2E
and tuned in about half of them manually
Finally I deleted a considerable number
of unwanted channels.

So far so good.

The problem is that more channels
get taken into the Freesat family,
but they do not migrate onto
the list of channels. Other channels
change transponder.

My Freesat list now has no channel 4
Instead channel 104 (as they call it)
is the one between 3105 and 3107,
making it harder to access.

Similarly there seems to be other
channels, such as (I think) 125

Is there any way to update the list
without having to tune in everything
from the beginning again and lose
the hard work done to get the
non-Freesat channels into some
sort of shape?

TIA

Are you sure you bought a Freesat box and not
a regular FTA box?
A true Freesat box should have an Electronic Program
Guide with all the program names and times similar to a Sky Digibox.

What on earth makes you ask that?
There should surely be enough detail
in the question to make it abundantly clear.

OTOH my actual FTA box has a metre dish
and goes from Hispasat to Astra 2 and beyond.
Carrefour FM is a bit of a novelty to listen to...

I think it comes from messages that have been posted via the Google
Groups web interface, it allows clicking on quoted text to toggle it
between shown and hidden, but not when the text has been posted back to
usenet!

Google, busy on its way to ruling the world, hasn't thought too hard
about producing a Usenet compliant newsclient. Just as some folks think
that top-posting is logical.

Many thanks to you and everybody else
FWIW 104 now appears on the main Freesat
list but at the end, not in the proper place
So do quite a lot of other channels
I have set the box for automatic updates
so I hope things will sort themselves out
soon.

(Prompted by all this I rescanned 28.2E
on my other, FTA box, and found all the
renaming. I see that BBC Alba has a
name and not a number. Incidentally
they have been showing a really morbid
tale in the evenings more than once,
in Gaelic with English subtitles)

It's going to be on Ch 110 on Freesat AIUI.
