Humax PVR 9200 RGB query
No mention in the handbook, but does anyone know if the VCR SCART on the
Humax PVR 9200 will allow RGB pass through from a DVD player?

The reason I ask is that I have recently purchased a LCD Philips TV which
has twin SCART (along with two HDMI sockets).

However just as with so many other devices I have encountered over the years
it only has one SCART which will accept a RGB input, this got me wondering
if there is any technical reason that I'm not familiar with why this should
be so? as I can't see why it would pose that much difficulty or additional
expense to incorporate into all of the sockets, or at least make it an
option selectable from the main menu, surely something which one would
expect to find especially on more expensive pieces of kit.

TIA Ivan

Yes it will.

Many thanks, I will now feed the DVD player into my Humax instead of SCART
two on the TV.

Re: Humax PVR 9200 RGB query
I guess there's not much you can do about it if not, but I wonder if
it will do so in standby when you're not using it? I've known STBs
not pass RF through in standby, let alone RGB.

More wasted CO2, probably ...

I'm pretty sure my 8000 doesn't (in standby).

My 8000 did. I used to have the DVD pass through the 8000, which in turn
went through the 9200. Worked fine, regardless of whether the 8000 or
9200 were in standby or not. The only problem was if the 8000 kicked into
life to make a recording part way through watching a DVD. I would have to
stop and restart the DVD. Not a problem with the 9200, which has a button
to switch between sources.
