Probably the first to alert the South Bank playout centre, so they can
play the sponsorship break bumper, the second to alert Leeds, Glasgow,
and Belfast for the ads ?

Never realised that they still used cue-dots, shows how under-scanned my TV
is. I would have thought in this digital age there would be some much more
advanced. They don't still have someone manaully cueing the adverts in do
they ??

I think for ads etc during live programmes things are more manual than
you might imagine !

Why would the sponsorship break bumper not just be played out at the
programme's gallery? Or is this just a precaution, given how busy the
gallery would be and how it's not a wise idea to muck up the sponsor's
break bumper given the sum of money involved?
(Probably used the wrong terminology but you get my gist.)

To allow Scottish TV and Ulster TV to opt out as they might not have had
the same sponsorship package.
It sounds like the happy old days of regional ITV, doesn't it.

I was under the impression that programme sponsorship was a network
wide thing.
