English Premier Cup

A bruised and battered Guildford Flames Ice Hockey club had some good
news on Saturday night with the return of Vaclav Zavoral to the line-
up for a Premier Cup tie and better news about 2 hours after that when
the final score had the Spectrum club with 5 goals and the visiting
Chelmsford Chieftains with none. Ollie Bronnimann converted a
powerplay at 3:29 for a 1-0 Flames lead and repeated the effort just
over 6 minutes later to extend the margin to a pair. At 14:45, again
on the powerplay, Jozef Kohut made it a 3 goal cushion before the
period timed out. A scoreless second period cued a pair of Flames
strikes in the final stanza to complete the win. Bronnimann secured
his hattrick with a powerplay mark at 54:03 and Rick Plant closed the
scoring at 57:43 for the Flames first points in Premier Cup action.
Joe Watkins, who stopped all 25 shots directed his way, recorded his
first shutout of the new campaign.
