The Guildford Flames Ice Hockey club hobbled to Milton Keynes on
Saturday night under the cloud of a full scale injury epidemic.
Dominic Hopkins and David Savage joined Vaclav Zavoral, Lukas Smital
and Rick Skene on the sidelines while the Milton Keynes Lightning used
five first period goals to bury the Flames on the way to a 7-0 win.
Gary Clarke scored shorthanded at 2:34 to kick things off before Toni
Alasaarela scored his first of four on the night for a 2-0 edge at
5:46. Just over two minutes later, on the powerplay, Greg Randall
extended the lead to three. Alasaarela added another at 12:47 and
Ales Pares completed the five goal outburst at 16:43 on the
powerplay. At 27:27 Alasaarela completed his hat trick and posted
another for good measure at 33:30 making the final score 7-0, sending
the Flames back to Spectrum with the cup defeat.
