Guildford Flames 2-1 Swindon Wildcats

After a disappointing overtime defeat 24 hours earlier in Shropshire,
the Flames returned to the confines of Spectrum ice to face the
Swindon Wildcats and used a late Paul Dixon blast to carry them to a
2-1 win. The clubs exchanged goals in the first period when Jozef
Kohut converted a powerplay at 4:18 to put the Flames in front. Shane
Moore replied just over 5 minutes later to tie the score at one each.
Despite outshooting the visitors 30-15 on the night, and 12-3 in the
final session, the Flames could not get the go ahead goal until 56:30
on the powerplay when Dixon one timed a Rob Lamey pass, beating Nathan
Craze in the Wildcats goal for a 2-1 lead. Despite a late Flames
penalty to Ollie Bronnimann and a 6 on 4 Wildcat skater advantage,
thanks to an empty net, the travellers could not equalize and the
Flames recorded the league points to remain on the league table
summit.
