On Saturday night the Flames returned to Spectrum to take on the
Peterborough Phantoms and the Surrey side leapfrogged back into sole
possession of 1st place in the league table on the back of a 6-3 win
thanks in part to a pair of 4 point nights by both Milos Melicherik
and newcomer Robert Sobala, and a 31 save performance from Joe Watkins
fresh off the injured list.  Sobala opened the scoring at 10:28 before
Ollie Bronnimann extended the lead to 2-0 just 32 seconds later.  As
time wound down on the opening frame, James Archer replied for the
Phantoms to send the clubs to the break a goal apart.  At 24:48 Milos
Melicherik found the goal to restore the 2 goal lead.  In the 33rd
minute Rick Plant netted on a powerplay, and the Flames carried a 4-1
lead into the final stanza.  At 44:01 Taras Foremsky was awarded a
penalty shot, and he made no mistake beating Watkins high to bring the
visitors back to within a pair, but just over 2 minutes later, while
on the powerplay, Sobala converted a Paul Dixon feed to extend the
lead back to 3.  The Phantoms replied on a powerplay of their own at
51:38, Archer scoring his second of the evening, to pull the score to
5-3, but with a single second on the clock Melicherik capped the win
with the final strike of the night, ensuring a pair of league table
points for the Spectrum club.
