After dropping a point at home to the Romford Raiders, the Flames were
hoping for a maximum point haul on the return visit to Romford to
remain atop the EPL table, but a disappointing 5-3 loss moves the
Flames back to 2nd spot, a point back of league leading Sheffield
Scimitars.  The Raiders opened the scoring at 1:21 through Elliott
Andrews and took a 1 goal lead to the break.  The Flames tied the
score in the 25th minute when Vaclav Zavoral found the net, but that
was all the scoring either team could muster in the middle session.
Early in the third, the home side scored a pair of quick strikes to
open a 3-1 lead.  Scott McKenzie netted at 45:15, with Rob Stewart
adding another just 34 seconds later.  The Flames, however, responded
at 46:24 when Ollie Bronnimann pulled them to within a goal and a Paul
Dixon powerplay strike at 51:33 evened the score. Unfortunately for
the Spectrum side, a pair of powerplay goals for the Raiders in the
dying minutes signalled defeat.  At 54:15 Mark Williams did the
honours, and at 58:39 Stefan Ketola ensured the 5-3 Raiders win,
denying the Flames a continued presence on the league table summit.
