Ascot Weds 3rd day views
Making a profit may not be so easy today :-( huge fields etc,Track watering
?

2.30

WAFFLE won his debut race @ Leics has top combo of Noseda and Frankie..nice
ew at least.PROLIFIC lost nowt in defeat lto and has Hannon who has won
already this meet.FLASHMANS PAPERS won on Tues and it is unlikely he`ll go
in again in the same week? But no surprise if he did after beating BUSH
RANGER :-( has the strangest of breeding by an Aussie out of a German by an
American LOL

3.05

MICHITA did not like the vagaries of Epsom and may enjoy this flatter track
and get her head back in front.imho

3.45

COASTAL PATH is another of my Ante Post bets for the Cup with a record of
played 6 won 6!! Ran over 16f lto so should stay the extra plus he is
bred to be a stayer.
YEATS has to be the classiest of Cup winners for many a year but he will
have to be in top form to hold his younger rival at bay imho
A couple to consider for long odds ew are REGAL FLUSH and THUNDERING STAR
from S.A.

4.20 Britannia Stakes

137 runners,all 3-y-o`s,plus any draw bias hah! easy.After hours of study I
predict a 30-way photo finish LOL
Here goes...
COMMANDER CAVE from the inform Hannon/Hughes combo has a low draw to
help(possibly)
SLUGGER O`TOOLE (what a great name)could box on late from a high draw.RATTAN
is improving rapidly and I for one would love to see him win for Henry for
old times sake if nothing else.

4.55
With such an open looking field nice prices are available all round.CENTRAL
STATION of Dermot Welds won easing down on his debut, the contsted a Group 3
staying on well behind HEBRIDEAN..looks a prospect here.UNNEFER of Cecils
has done all that has been asked of him and I fancy he will figure here
today.STAYING ON seems to be the forgotten horse,he has won 3 out of 4 this
season his one defeat was by UNNEFER on G-S going and he also has a weight
pull,no forlorn hope.

5.30
ALLIED POWERS has been in fine fettle this season winning his last 3
nicely,owes me nothing.
The longer trip should suit COLONY and should make the frame flws

well I`m off to get the early prices ;-)

all above imho

and remember its Ascot so be careful out there, keep `em peeled *GRIN*

Re: Ascot Thursday 3rd day views
Thursday mate ;-)

This is my favourite day of the Royal Ascot meeting as my week almost
always relies on how well I do in the Brittania and King George V
handicaps and I usually increase my stakes and do a bit of
dutching/combo forecasts/tricasts...I may even try a combo forecast on
stalls 1-6 in the Brittania today as it would have worked out quite well
yesterday....anywayz...here goes...

2:30 Norfolk Stakes

I really liked Finjaan for this but he is a non-runner I think.
SPIN CYCLE is rated highly by Bryan Smart at at around the 10/1 mark is
worth an e/w bet provided he does not get too worked up in the
preliminaries.
BAYCAT is another overpriced following two solid wins and will not find
the faster ground a problem, 14/1 looks e/w value.

3:05 Ribblesdale Stakes

CAPE AMBER followed up her 2nd in the Musidora with a slightly unlucky
6th in the Oaks. This looks easier and at 5/1 she looks decent value to
score here.

3:45 Gold Cup

Would love to see YEATS win this and he will take all the beating so is
worth the win bet at 2/1 but it's worth picking an e/w bet given his
odds are so short.
Royal Flush looks fair value and I was on the verge of selecting him at
22/1 but even better value is the French challenger LE MIRACLE who was
3rd in this race last year and had Yeats 3+ lengths behind in 3rd when
scoring in the Prix Cadran last backend. One of the few in the field who
actually might find this 2 1/2 miles on the sharp side as his breeding
is all about stamina so a fast-run Gold Cup could see him spring a shock
but he is worth an e/w poke.

4:20 Brittania Stakes Handicap

One of my first rules in this is to back the Gosden runner and given my
liking for Cheveley Park runners, VIRTUAL looks a standout bet at the
16/1 mark.
My other rule in this is to start from stall 1 and count up until I hit
a top trainer and that gives me COMMANDER CAVE who was narrowly pipped
at the post last time. Hannon/Hughes won a big prize yesterday and with
this one in stall 2 they have every chance of another at 14/1.
Mark Johnston is always to be respected in these handicaps and his Love
Galore looks to hold a chance but the 50/1 is all gone that Pricewise
has tipped him and his draw could be better.
Siberian Tiger is interesting dropped back in trip but my 3rd rule is to
follow an Abdullah runner for a top yard so I'll stick in FIFTEEN LOVE
at 33/1, drawn 4 for Roger Charlton. He will appreciate better ground
and the cheekpieces could bring some improvement.

4:55 Hampton Court Stakes

Going to take a chance with STAYING ON here for Walter Swinburn.
Defeated Command Cave last time so watch for that one in the previous
race. 16/1 looks quite big considering the progressive look to his form.
I don't know what to make of the fact Ryan Moore has deserted Dr Faustus
for Kensington Oval so I'll leave them both alone and have a saver on
Dermot Weld's CENTRAL STATION. He is fully unexposed and the yard's
runners are to be respected in races of this nature. 25/1 looks huge.

5:30 King George V Stakes Handicap

This is one of my favourite races at Royal Ascot as I always seem to get
the winner so am hoping my luck holds.
Michael Stoute makes it easier here by only running one and COLONY is he
bet at 7/1. I remember backing Admiral for this a few years back and
this one looks very similar in terms of profile/same owner etc.
The consistent Ramona Chase is very interesting and I was tempted to
throw in a Mark Johnston runner but he is not in good enough form for me
at the moment so I'll take a chance again on another Dermot Weld runner
in GHIMAAR at 14/1. Needs to improve but the least exposed runner in the
field.

Good Luck all

Grrrr!

If Drowne had applied just one more whip, it would have been placed!
Another stiff prick jockey - there's lots of them about when you lose
money....

WAFFLE non-runner but PROLIFIC stayed on at one pace for 3rd so no loss.
FLASH finished late for 4th which was quite a good run for 2nd race in 3
days. But SOUTH CENTRAL trapped so fast and ran flat out to just about hold
on.Reminded me of LOCHSONG..fast away and fast all the way :-)

Easy Peasy, cruised around then went for it 2 out and staedily pulled away
for a facile win, very smart filly even given the opposition was not that
great 7-2 `ll do me..

Much as we hate it,you have to accept the bad decisions etc that Jokeys make
and factor it in when taking a view Ron.As I said earlier .."It was a good
run considering it was his 2nd run in 3 days so it was expectiong a bit much
to come here in this speedy field and do a repeat"

Glad to hear it Ron, shame he didn't get his head up but once again
Thursday has proven to be my best day with winning bets on Fifteen Love
and Colony. I might just bet in the handicaps next year ;-)

Good day for me also eventually, had pplenty of place bets up,a few non
runners and MICHITA and COLONY all at better than sp :-)
Pity about COASTAL PATH but he is young and it was only his 7th race! But
I`ll long remember YEATS battling qualities today,we can add that
description to "Classy"
