Ascot Weds 2nd day views
After yesterday, this card is going to have to put up some cracking races to
match it..
2.30
very hard race to fathom so I`ll put up 2 for ew or win and place money.
WAR OFFICER Takes a step up here, but having taken time to learn how to race
he has now won 4 out of his last 5 over6/ F..His ability to handle the going
on tust.
AQLAAM duly stepped up lto and is a value ew bet.R Hills prefers him to
TAWAASH?
3.05
SABANA PERIDA has won 9 races in his short career over 7f-11f and could give
LEMAIRE the double, pushed for an ew I will put up HARVEST QUEEN of P.Makin
who is a very shrewd trainer at placing his charges flws
3.45 With MARMALADE being a very short odds fav,how about an ew longshot in
LOUP BRETON who as G3 and G2 successes to his name and 20-1 looks tasty ;-)
4.20 ROYAL HUNT CUP :-(
I would a lot longer odds than the 7-4 being bandied about BANKABLE even if
he is 14 stone well in lol.I have already backed LANG SHINING at long odds
ew his form bears inspection especially SPRING CUP in April,a lot of good
winners have come from it.My neighbour runs KAVACHI,and given his ability to
nick these big field h`caps he needs keeping an eye on in the market ...
4.55 I`ve been waiting to see if AOB would put in HEART SHAPED.I rate him
very highly, based on his win lto and imo could be a good `un for the future.
Bells BAHAMIAN BABE
who has improved with every run and is unbeaten so far.
5.30. Having come cropper lto I`m a little retiscent to try and get some
back here with CRUEL SEA. At long odds PRETTY BALLERINA was thought to be
very useful last season but it did not go to plan, however ran a cracker lto
and was only beaten in a photo. This is a long way for JOHN JOSEPH MURPHY(an
Irish trainer)to bring his charge for nothing..
Well have another great days racing...

Re: Ascot Weds 2nd day views
Have not taken as close a look at proceedings today but here goes...
2:30 Jersey Stakes
DREAM EATER'S 5th in the 2000 Guineas is looking about the best form
here now and the drop in both class and trip should suite ideally. The
same comments apply to ROYAL CONFIDENCE who is worth an e/w shout given
she was only beaten a couple of lengths by Natagora, receives weight all
round and does not have to find too much on Stimulation on their
previous form.
3:05 Windsor Forest Stakes
HEAVENT SENT is a typical Pivotal filly and she should take the beating
here. There are numerous dangers however, Grecian Dancer is one after
good win last time while Baharah is also respected but one place ahead
of Baharah last time yet almost 5 times the prices is SELINKA who is
worth a small e/w bet.
3:45 Prince Of Wales Stakes
Likely to be a typical tactical Aidan O'Brien affair here, which is not
always for the best (as witnessed in the Queen Anne last time) but I
think from a value perspective Duke Of Marmalade is worth taking on.
Literaro may prefer the ground softer while Loup Breton is an
interesting alternative although may also prefer more cut so the
preference is for Cecil's PHOENIX TOWER who ran such a solid race with
the pace of the race against him in the Lockinge. Unexposed at this trip
I think he can score here and is the value call. Sixties Icon would be a
danger if reproducing his best.
4:20 Royal Hunt Cup Handicap
2/1 in a race of this nature is just crazy, where traffic problems are
more than likely as is the likelihood of the draw conspiring against the
favourite, not to mention this is much faster ground than he has
encountered so far. He is clearly ahead on form but I would never
contemplate taking 2/1 in a race of this nature and I would be tempted
to put in one of my rare lays on this one.
An alternative is tricky to come up with though. I like the ex-German
FIGHT CLUB dropping back to a mile after leading for a long way in the
Brigadier Gerard stakes although I suspect he may be better with cut.
66/1 is a decent e/w price though.
The slight drop back in trip and first-time blinkers could bring about
improvement in EMERALD WILDERNESS at 33/1. This is a step up but he has
been showing improvement the last few seasons and Alan King is
under-rated on the flat.
The 3rd bullet I will fire is last year's Cambridgeshire runner-up
DOCOFTHEBAY. Drawn in one and with the first-time blinkers I think he
could be very tough to beat here and the race should be run to suit his
hold-up style of running. 12/1 is fair enoughand he is my idea of the
winner.
4:55 Queen Mary Stakes
Bahamian Babe is interesting for the stable that unleashed the
impressive Art Connoiseur yesterday while Excellent Show is another
respected as is the Cheveley Park runner Danehill Destiny. I'm going to
plump for Hannon's BAILEYS CACAO though who is highly rated by the
trainer and won impressively last time. 7/1 looks worth an e/w bet in a
trappy juvenile fillies event.
5:30 Sandringham Handicap
I really like the look of MARAMBA here who will love the fast ground and
Stoute has to be respected in these Royal Ascot handicaps when he
unleashes an unexposed type. Gosden's Illusion may give her most to do.

Ran a cracker winning quite easily in the end sp 1/2 except for those night
owls who got on early, very early LOL

HQ stayed onwell although not geting into frame.
However Lemaire gave SABANA PERIDA a peach of a ride
holding her upand then coming with a rattle up the stand side to get up
close home for win number 10
Great start with 4 more to go ;-) wheres Big Ron?

Good shout mate, thought you only backed 1/2 shots ;-)
Made my day laying Bankable just wish that Docofthebay had got up but no
damage done.

Dave posted about the Fav,and LANGSHINING was unplaced from a wide draw.
KAVACHI ran a cracker and if Norton had kept on up the rail I think it may
have been a different result, backed from 40s -33-1 so I do not think my
neighbour was at it(allegedly)Still 40-1 @ 1/4 odds is much better than 7-4
only.
turned out nice again int it ;-)
