Fantastic days racing all over the place, not least the Curragh Irish 2k...
Beverly
1.55 On breeding,by BERTOLINI and having a smart trainer Mark Johnson
NORTHUMBERLAND is the pick.
2.55 LOOK BUSY has the form and get the sex allowance which puts her
well in here imo
Haydock
2.35 Despite the likely Fav FOLK OPERS who won lto, and having to give
weight away ANNA PAVLOVA is a high class act and has won 1st time out
before, and is a most consistent high level performer and gets the vote.
3.05 Not an obvious choice in this terrific Class 2 event, but AUSTINTATIOUS
is coming along nicely imho in reciept of up to 10 lbs plus holding an ASCOT
Group entry and a double figure price is my idea of a value bet ..
3.35 One of my favourite races The Temple Stakes.Noseda is in fine form and
FLEETIN SPIRIT looks good to me,beat the colts last season and finished the
season running 2nd to NATAGORA!!
4.10 I`m sticking with CAPE VALE who will love this trip after staying on in
all his shorter distance races so far, just failing to get up lto..
Newmarket
3.20 OPUS MAXIMUS of Mark Jonsons is the bottom weight here, won lto and
although double figure odds is a decent ew over this 6f
4.35 BORN TO BOOGIE didn`t quite get home lto over 10f but had run well 1st
time out.Down in trip and could be another part of `enrys resurgence ...
When I`ve had a look at the Curragh ill post agin..
luck to all,and enjoy :-)

Newmarket
=========
2:20 This is really just a guide that is going to tell us the strength
of the form of Doctor Fremantle and Tajaaweed's Derby trials with Pampas
Cat and Unnefer respectively. Personally, I don't like the race too much
but it's often a good future pointer. For this trip I actually like the
breeding of Gaspar Van Wittel by Danehill Dancer out of Mr Prospector mare.
2:50 LUCK MONEY is a must bet here, top-rated and by Indian Ridge out of
a Machiavellian mare is the best bred for this trip. Form last season
looks very strong.
3:20 Trappy Coral Sprint. The stats point to decent runs from Prohibit,
Victorian Bounty and Quest For Success. Of these preference is for
VICTORIAN BOUNTY at around the 12/1 mark. Plenty of speed, bred well by
Bahamian Bounty out of a Wolfhound mare and in-form.
I also quite like the breeding of the other Bahamian Bounty Sophie's
Girl but she is out of sorts and has a 7lb claimer booked so the main
danger might be the Bertoloni colt Brassini.
4:00 Juvenile maiden and the one that stands out on breeding is Ed
Dunlops ALKHALIF by Royal Applause out of a Danehill mare. Seaway has
the experience and will prove tough to beat but a lot of Dr Fong's like
to get their toe in and he will find the ground plenty lively enough today.
4:35 Interesting 3yo handicap which could prove a pointer to Royal Ascot
The Hamdan runner Masaalek by Green Desert out of Darshaan is
interesting. I don't often like to back Green Desert's over a mile but
the presence of Darshaan as a damsire allays stamina worries slightly
but there is one bred to be really effective at this trip and it is TALK
OF SAAFEND by Barathea out of a Darshaan mare. Hannon is bang in form at
the moment, this one improved with racing last season and put up a good
seasonal debut effort at Donny. She receives weight from the field and
22/1 is just too big.
5:10 Very interesting maiden race. The top one De Facto is just about
the pick on breeding by Medicean out of a Sadler's Wells mare but has
not shown much so far. The Cumani runner Spouk is well bred by Pivotal
out of an Ahanoora mare but his are tending to need the run. The one to
beat though is the Cheveley Park runner RESURGE by Danehill Dancer out
of a Polar Falcon mare and who showed a deal of promise last time.
5:45 I like the stamina events as very few are bred to see out the trip
effectively. The two that catch my eye are Wind Flow by Dr Fong out of a
Sadler's Wells mare although he has to translate form to turf from the
all-weather and will find the ground liveley enough. The other though is
Irish Quest by Galileo out of a Rainbow Quest mare but his last 2 runs
have been poor so maybe best watched. So that leaves me with PASS THE
PORT by Docksider out of an Alzao mare. He is at least in form and has
proven stamina.
Haydock
=======
2:05 One is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of sprint
breeding here and it's INTREPID JACK for Hughie Morrison for whom Ryan
Moore is an eye-catching booking. At around the 13/2 mark this Compton
Place horse out of a Primo Dominie mare is all about speed. He has won
at this track before and was just touched off in the Wokingham last
year. He may be more effective at 6f on evidence but on breeding he
should be ok. The main worry is whether he will be exerted if another
crack at the Wokingham is on the agenda so e/w caution is advisable. If
not then Indian Trail looks next best on breeding, is in-form, is a c&d
winner and acts on fast so may be worth a small cover.
2:35 ABANDON looks the one here following a win last time. 6/1 looks
decent and although not the best bred in the field is just as likely to
be effective at this trip as the others and Cheveley Park runners are
always to be respected. Folk Opera by Singspiel out of Halling looks the
danger.
3:05 The Silver Bowl looks a decent handicap as usual and again Royal
Ascot pointers are likely. I hate to sound like a broken record but the
Cheveley Park runner Virtual stands out on breeding by Pivotal out of an
Exit To Nowhere mare and the form of his Craven win looks solid with
placed runners re-appearing and winning since. However, just see he is a
non-runner which is a shame. After him they are much of a muchness,
BURNWYND BOY is well bred for this race and 50/1 certainly looks quite
big. Just touched off in a conditions race on seasonal debut and may
just want softer but worth a small e/w bet.
The one I like for an e/w though is COMMANDER CAVE for Richard Hannon at
14/1. Won well on the all-weather and scored back on turf last time.
The price looks big enough and although the sire Tale of The Cat is not
well known, it is by Storm Cat so will love the fast ground and with
Royal Academy on the damsire side there is a touch of class there.
3:35 The Temple Stakes looks hot this year. First off at a price I am
willing to give JUDD STREET another chance after a poor debut effort. He
won a decent handicap on fast ground over c&d last season and followed
up with a listed success and being by Compton Place out of a College
Chapel mare there is none speedier bred. 25/1 looks massive to me if
bouncing back to his best so fingers crossed he can at least reach a place.
Fleeting Spirit has clearly the best form in the book but a short price,
seasonal debut, big field, taking on older sprinters and colts with a
penalty make her a swerve for me. She may very well trot up but there is
no value there.
In terms of form I would rather be with Godolphin's DANDY MAN as a win
bet. Goes well fresh and decent form in this grade, will love the ground
and well bred by Mozart out of a Night Shift mare.
4:10 Feisty Royal is well bred but out of sorts (although 66/1 was
tempting ;-) so preference is for CAPE VALE by Cape Cross out of a Last
Tycoon mare and bred to be effective over this 7f and on fast ground.
4/1 is a fair price in a trappy handicap.
4:45 Lap of Honour looks best bred but out of sorts at the moment so
preference is for JAMIESON GOLD who may just have a bit of improvement
stepped up to the mile but it's not a race to get heavily involved in.
5:15 Dettori is an eye-catching booking for MARYOLINI and at 7/1 she
rates the bet. By Bertolini out of a Tina's Pet mare she is speedy and
has shown form on fast ground on turf before and shaped well on the
all-weather last year.
CURRAGH
=======
2:40 The listed juvenile event can go to the Fasliyev filly out of a
Green Desert mare SILVER SHOON who has a couple of runs under her belt
and should love the ground.
3:10 The GP3 Greenlands stakes looks booked for Myboycharlie and he will
be tough to beat but ABRAHAM LINCOLN could be interesting as an e/w bet
at 16/1. A C&D winner by Danehill out of a Dominion mare he is bred to
be classy although IMO better over another furlong at least but he may
be worth a shot.
3:45 For me HENRYTHENAVIGATOR won the 2000 on merit so I won't be
deserting him today.
4:20 SETTIGANO by Sadler's Wells out of a Devil's Bag mare looks the
pick on brreding here.
4:50 The best bred runner of the day if not the week is NAVAJO MOON by
Danehill out of a Sadler's Wells mare and the drop back to a mile after
racing over 9 and 10f is the key. Jalmira looks the danger on breeding
by Danehill Dancer out of a Darshaan mare.
5:20 The last can go to the well bred KING OF WESTPHALIA for Aidan
O'Brien by Kingmambo out of a decent Sadler's Wells mare which is
excellent breeding.
Good Luck all
