Fridays Fun
There`s racing at all points of the compass today and some really good and
interesting cards...not sure of another 33-1 but here goes

York

1.40 DISPOL KATIE not an obvious choice from an unfashionable stable but
sahe has won both her races well.staying on in both of them.An interersting
trial for the Queen Mary hopefuls.

2.10 AS difficult as a h`cap gets.WATAMU has improved hand over fist and the
H`capper hasn`t let that go unnoticed, still good enough despite top weight
to be concerned in the finish,as has BIRKSIDE the bottom weight, who won well
lto has a claimer(7lb) so gets 2 stone more or less from the top.

2.40 Love to see Sergeant Cecil win again but to me HONOLULU represent a bit
of class, although beaten it was never far and in the very best of
company, the price may be a bit on the short side for me and YOUNG MICK could
be a nice ew bet, sure to come on for his first run.

Aintree

6.30 BODOLENKA caught my eye going over hurdles for the first time and has
only the Fav to beat imo

8.45 SON OF FLICKA won on debut over 1m 5f and this could be the ideal trip
for him.

Hamilton

8.35 TURBO LINN makes her seasonal debut here over 1m 4f which is a better
trip than the 3f further over which she finally lost her unbeaten tag.

Newbury

3.55 ALLIED POWERS goes for the Hattrick here, but again price may be a bit
short.

good luck to all

Re: Fridays Fun
I'd be inclined to take on Honolulu with ROYAL & REGAL, Honolulu is class,
on top form, but there can be some question marks about him for me, R&R can
find any chinks today, will like this firmer ground (hope they've not
flooded it with the taps), is improving all the time & the Jarvis stable can
take this first 'Cup' of the year IMO.
At Newmarket, I like STRIKING SPIRIT in the 3.00, been racing in better
company than this, and looks ripe for a win today for the team Hills.
I might add I was down on my luck yesterday, I backed Lang Shining, West
With The Wind & Kateeb, three close seconds, so the layers may be interested
in my selections ;-)
Cheers ears
Aid.

Only really taken a look at York today briefly...

1:40

I like an outsider here in CLUMBER PLACE. Bred by Compton Place out of a
Roberto mare she is one of the most likely to be really effective at
this trip and the trainer rates her a classy filly. Made all to score
last time and although this looks tougher, a lot of them have to
improve. 25/1 looks very big and worth an e/w poke. The other that looks
big is LISBURN who was only a length behind Dispol Katie last time yet
is 3 times the price today. 25/1 is also big for the Bahamian Bounty
filly who again is bred for pure speed.

2:10

If Stoute has improved Sugar Ray this season as much as he usually does
then he could prove tough to beat but PIPPA GREENE had his measure last
season and is equally unexposed. Paul Cole has been amongst the winners
lately and being by Galileo out of a Darshaan mare he is certainly bred
to be decent and effective at this trip. 9/1 looks a fair bet.
For an outsider, you could look to Pevensey, stable in form and only 1lb
higher than when winning at Royal Ascot last year but out of sorts at
the moment. WING COLLAR may be worth another chance after a tame effort
last time when I fancied him for the Chester Cup, course winner and
possibly one of the best bred in the field and at 16/1 worth an e/w bet.

2:40

Only one horse for me here on breeding, ROYAL AND REGAL who won well in
the John Porter last time. Is the best bred in the field but by Sadler's
Wells there is a slight worry about his effectiveness on a fast surface.
Can't believe he is not favourite especially after his win in the Jockey
Club last season making him the clear form choice and the 3/1 is decent
value.

3:10

One horse stands out for me here on breeding. MUSICAL BAR is a
half-sister to Finsceal Beo and I think her price is very generous
indeed. Won her maiden in style and 2nd has run well since, she has he
benefit of a recent run and by Barathea out of a Royal Academy mare she
will excel at this mile trip. Nap of the day for me, 9/2 a fantastic price.

3:45

Wide-open race. Marvelous Value won really well last time but has a big
hike and faster ground to overcome so I 'just' prefer LESSON IN HUMILITY
at twice the odds and may just settle for a small e/w at 10/1 in a
trappy race. Northern Bolt and Hamish McGonagall are two others bred to
be sprinters.

4:20

WYATT EARP won this last year from a 2lb higher mark and has been
prepped for this again so must have a big chance. 4/1 is a bit skinny
but he is arguably the best-bred 6f runner in the field being my Piccolo
out of an Absalom mare. Could prove tough to beat from a low draw.
Buachaill Dona was placed in this last year on his debut but will be
fitter this time and has to go close but the main danger is likely to be
Damika who is another Namid colt but is in slightly better form than the
Nicholls runner and at 7/1 could be worth a cover bet. One at a big
price is ZOMERLUST at 33/1 who has the visor back on. He last won back
here over c&d last July from a 4lb higher mark and the trainer is now
bang in form.

4:55

Don't fancy much here, on breeding I have it down to Benedict Spirit
12/1, Laterly 11/2 and Pondapie 16/1 so I may just have a small dutching
bet.

The only other runner I like today is in the 4:10 at Newmarket, the
Cecil filly SINGLE VOTE at around 7/2. By Pivotal out of a Singspiel
mare she stands out on breeding and 7/2 is a decent price.

Good Luck all

Ahh! I see Jarvis has concerns about the firm conditions for R&R, my mistake
that, I read it wrong & thought the weren't concerned by it, gonna stick
with him anyway.

After the good run of Pevensey (despite slow start) and comments by Joe
Fanning it looks like it will be riding easier than the forecast good to
firm after they watered the course last night so I don't think it will
be much of a problem and must take all the beating.

Re: Fridays Fun
My losing streak continues, a lot of tight finishes last few days, oh
well........on to the next.
I see Pizarro the latest Nuevo rich to get involved in the sport of kings,
Prem footballer, filthy rich, blessed with good looks & must have ladies
falling at his feet. I'm green with envy.
Cheers ears

Hamilton 8.35 back over her correct distance? if shes odds against might get
involved?
