1969 Oaks
Hi,
Does anyone know what day the Oaks was run on in 1969?
And is there a link to the date?
I know Sleeping Partner won, because I backed it at 33/1 weeks before.
I'm 100% certain it was a Saturday because it was the day I got married, but
I can't prove it to win a bet.
Cheers

That's what the argument is about, the guy who's going to lose says that
they began changing the day of the Derby and Oaks in 1965 - which I am
convinced is rubbish. I remember the day I got married, in fact I sometimes
remember the woman too - but not as often as the winner.
I need something online to show him so he will believe.

Just as your wife always is.
We always remember something about the day we got married:-) I remember we
had to get married in the morning as my father in law raced pigeons and he
had some due back in the afternoon. The wedding was in Willesden and it was
Cup Final Day so the morning was also better from the traffic point of view
AND it started to snow as we came out of the church.
Derek.
