sunday international view
Racing all over the place :-)

One to avoid is my home track Brighton.I can say hand on heart I`ve never
seen such a poor card here.

anyway
1st HONG KONG-SHA TIN

9.35 a.m. My old fav money spinner QUIJANO never runs a poor race wherever
he goes..

2nd FRANCE-LONGSHAMPS

2.15 ex Bok THUNDERING STAR has all the credential required to do well in
this race imo

3rd IRELAND-NAVAN

5.00 DAISY MAE BATES has the right name *GRIN*

Last but not least ENGLAND-WETHERBY

2.50 TUCKER is the most frustrating of racehorses, you know its there but
will he show it.Maybe an ew should be within his compass.Stayed on lto.

5.05 I`M GUNNER BE FINE again has the right name( son of GUNNER B )

looks like a decent bit of fun imho

whatdya think?

I have, the last meeting there, I stayed home:-) Most meetings there are
pretty bad and the weather often worse.

Maybe Mark, but I remember the halcyon days of Derby Trials etc but in the
last few years the quality has gradually headed for the pits, today I think
they`ve succeeded. When Stan Clarke and co had taken over, for a while things
looked on the up.The track/buildings were refurbished and we thought "happy
days are here again" but after all the work it has proved imho a false
dawn.I know in this day and age, with all its distractions, we will never see
the crowds we used to accept as normal, but, the fare put on today will
attract no-one least of all "New" race fans.A terrible shame when you think
that Brighton used to be a proving ground for some of the classiest Horses
we have been fortunate to have witnessed.Think of the last class horse you
have seen at Brighton! then remember the year.mmmmm yes..see what I mean :-(

They got quite a decent crowd today considering that it was not a
particularly nice day and the trains had problems with London punters having
to travel by bus from Three Bridges and something similar for travellers on
the line from Chichester. Of course many might have just been there for the
Cider festival and to leer at the Can Can dancers:-)
About eight bookies on the rails but less than usual in Tatts, even Barry
Dennis was missing.
Derek.
