OT: Online prices
Sorry for the off-topic posting but more appropriate uk groups seem to be
dead or only contain spam, and I figure the collective wisdom here will be
able to answer my question.
I had a bet yesterday with totesport.com on the American Football. They
quoted a price of 1.91, but paid £190.91 to a £100 stake. I know it's only
9p difference but it's my 9p dammit :-)
I assume it's because they use fractional odds and then round to 2 dp for
the decimal odds display. Should they be able to do this? Opinions please.
thanks in advance
Martin

Not sure that with computerisation and large combines, but in my day these
errors in payout and non collected small returns(coppers) were pooled and
shared out as a Xmas box for the staff. But I wouldn`t let them get away with
a penny as the staff will never see it :-)

Is it possible that they have a dual decimal/fractional facility, and
you just happened to place the bet whilst using the decimal window?

After further inspection it seems, that although my account is set to
display decimal odds, they use fractional odds to calculate the bet. If I
view the odds without logging in it displays as 10/11, but when I log in it
shows as 1.91. They round the decimal odds display to two decimal places.
ie 10/11 is shown as 1.91 but is calculated as 1.9090 recurring.
I assume if you stake £1,000 it would return £1,909.09 rather than £1,910.
