Saturday - Chelters
Great day ahead
Che1255 Trappy race. Top of my ratings is Gary Moore's MON MICHEL who is
likely to be huge odds. A consistent type who mixed it in Group company
on the flat, I feel he still has scope for improvement despite looking
high enough in the handicap. 2nd on my ratings is the sometimes quirky
Irish contender ARCHIE BOY who has ran out a few times but has also got
some decent hurdling form in the book although this is his toughest
assignment. Fen Game and Dan Buoy are next on my ratings.
Che125 On my ratings this is between the front-3 in the betting.
Willyanwoody is forecast favourite for the bang in-form Paul Nicholls
but is only 3rd on my ratings. 2nd and a much bigger danger is Albertas
Run who could put his Aintree effort behind him but would need to.
Preference for me is the consistent course winner ITSMYBOY for David
Pipe. Does appear to be workmanlike but that is possibly why we will get
a decent price tomorrow and if he can be held up and produced late could
just have too much for the rest.
Che200 I have Franchoek top-rated here but Qrackers let that form down
midweek last time and there is something of a hype element about this
one so I'm going with my 2nd FALCONS FIRE who already held the favourite
by 8 lengths which will be hard to turn around and is the value call. He
also clocked a decent figure last time when defeating the favourite and
was much the better jumper.
Che235 Can't wait for this. Well I have covered this elsewhere so was
looking forward to seeing what my ratings had top. The upshot is that
Idole First is 4th in my ratings, Knowhere is 3rd, Too Forward is 2nd
but at the top of the pile is Bob Hall. It's largely because of his
consistently high speed figures, notably when a close 2nd to
L'Antartique in March, at Aintree in April behind Private Be and when
2nd to Knowhere on his reappearance. I don't believe he is weighted to
reverse form with any of those though and always seems to be worried out
of it in the closing stages so although I was tempted to add him in I
may leave it. Interesting that my other 3 in the top-4 are also on
Martin's shortlist on his post. That 'may' just tempt me to have a
small bet on Knowhere but I'm sticking with IDOLE FIRST, CROZAN,
PALARSHAN and PRIVATE BE with my small cover bet on L'ANTARTIQUE.
Che310 I love Blazing Bailey, especially after backing him in the Cleeve
but I'm taking him on here today. I will be very surprised if he will be
able to concede almost 2 stone first time out to the Irish contender
SONNYANJOE who has proven fitness, is in-form and whose trainer has
already plundered a couple of races with him over here. I also think
Juveigneur could even run well on a 5lb lower mark than his chase rating.
Che340 If anyone can get a stayer ready to win a big prze first time up
then it's Twiston-Davies so I'm plumping for BARON WINDRUSH who nabbed a
couple of decent events including the Midlands National last term. The
faster ground is a slight concern. Cornish Sett is interesting.
