Greensomes
A Greensomes competition is coming up and I wish to have handicaps
calculated correctly.
The 0.6 and the 0.4 will almost certainly produce produce a decimal values
in each case.
Are these two numbers rounded up/down before adding together or is it just
the sum total that is rounded up/down

Denis,
Every greensome that I have ever played in leaves the decimals in
place with no rounding and as little as 0.2 can win the event.

This seems to me to contrary to Note 2 of Appendix H of CONGU Handicapping
System.

Possibly the local thinking is that a game where one can discard one
of the team's strokes at each hole can not be organised according to
recognised golf rulings and thus is acceptable to pinpoint the
winners. I know it doesn't answer your question but you can hardly
adjudicate a greensome according to the rules of Congu when it is not
a recognised (by the R&A) golf competition within the ROG under 29/32,
Other Forms of Play.
I find it difficult to understand why it is even mentioned in Appendix
H.

I forgot to mention in my original posting that the competition will be

It is probably mentioned in Appendix H because many golfers enjoy playing
this format.
