Pat Williams
I recently received a very emotional email from Pat telling me that
because of advancing years and failing memory he has decided to give
up golf. His new hobby, and one which is very farsighted, is the
study of gorillas.

Since the email contains a large image of the gorillas it will not be
possible to post it on this newsgroup but I am sure that a polite
request to Pat will let you see his good work. He is not asking for
donations!

Well this information surprising as it is may be supported by his post
of 26th August where he gives a clue to the final straw, when in
response to the 'all members are equal' thread he ended 'I would hate
the thought of a Unisex shower room!'
Co-incedentally I read David Attenborough is giving up his study of
gorillas because of advancing years and failing memory to take up golf -
perhaps he could have Pats old clubs.
Gorilla Studies - though not oversubscribed at Wigan University - is a
bitmore overcrowded worldwide than most municipal golf courses .
Certainly students of gorillas outnumber the world population of
gorillas by an inordinate ratio. And as most study involves field trips
to the natural environment rather than the zoo - the carbon footprint of
the average gorila student is much greater than that of the average golfer.
There is also the danger that he might, if this rateher dubious post is
to be believed , have a bit of a problem remembering that he has changed
hobbies or even what his new interest is . Good luck to him anyway.
