get in line behind Upson, Green, McCartney for mine.

Was a superbly taken penalty - inch perfect....would be easy to be put off
mentally by the whole Reina is a penalty saving specialist thing.

LBM may well be the worst footballer to pull on C&B for a long time...

Very true - playing for West Ham doesn't transform plonkers into
world-beaters, unfortunately. Remember Harry's job lot to replace Rio?

As for LBM, it's a shame he hasn't yet delivered the sort of performance he
used to turn in every now and again in the past. Obviously, Curbs rates him,
or he wouldn't have bought him, and wouldn't be picking him, and other
managers have rated him, too. For instance, I read a piece by Souness who
said that when Michael Owen was foisted on him, he'd really wanted to buy
LBM.

I have to admit to something bad. I left my seat and saw the penalty
decision on the last TV at the north end of the DML. When it was given
a few hundred of us ran back into the nearest entrance, flooding the
stewards at the Centenary Stand corner of the DML and nearly spilling
out onto the pitch after the penalty went in. Naughty naughty indeed!!

As for LBM, I think he needs shooting. A couple of MOM performances do
not excuse every other minute he has spent on the pitch. He can't
decide whether he is a winger or a forward, and seems to wander all over
the place leaving holes on the left hand side. Saying that, I did also
want to shoot Carlton Cole last season for his useless lazty hobbling
around the pitch. I've changed my mind a little now.

Why does Curbishley continue to pick Boa Morte ? I think he is crap, surely
we must have someone else in the reserves to give a run out to. And in my
opinion Cole is not far behind him, why does he not score goals ?

I know what you mean - most of the chances created recently seem to have
fallen to LBM and Cole, who we armchair pundits think really ought to have
done better :-)

There are youngsters who Curbs has said recently he wants to give a chance
to, eg Sears, Reid, Tompkins and Collison. But can you imagine Dean Ashton's
reaction (not to mention Bellers and, soon, Bobby Z) if, say, Curbs dropped
Cole and picked Sears instead, not him? He'd better give the kids a run
soon, with most of the injured 'stars' coming back into contention.

I think one of the problems we fans have with LBM is a feeling that he
really has it in him to do so much better, so its particularly disappointing
when he fails to deliver, most of the time, especially as he seems so prone
to conceding free kicks/penalties.

He doesn't seem too bad as a midfielder and certainly is prepared to
work. However, a striker he isn't. Could it be down to team orders? Is
Curbs really playing him out of position?

I noticed dozens of people leaving the ground about three minutes from the
end, they must have been pig sick when they got into Green Street and heard
that mighty roar go up !!! Football is a funny old game, you never know.
