After that miss he faded, looked disheartened and hardly touched the ball. 
Full marks to Rob Green psyching him before he took it, can't wait for MOTD 
now (but will I be sober enough to see it?)

The West Ham performance showed great character, I think. Many a team would 
have wilted going one down against the run of play, conceding a needless 
penalty, and losing their midfield maestro to injury. It speaks volumes for 
the team spirit that they were not overawed by their visitors' reputation, 
nor dismayed by events not going their way, but showed the belief and 
ambition to keep on competing and to secure a deserved victory.

Pity they haven't always been playing like that against 'lesser' opposition.
