Long Live Harry Redknapp
You know some people on this site need to take a hard long look at
themselves if all they can do is reduce the name of redknap to slander and
allegation that has yet to be proven. Mr Redknapp did more good for the
club in his tenure at the ground than most and had to make money out of thin
air (using transfer skill not deception).

He was and is one of the very few managers in the game that knew about
players about other teams and also the most important thing of how to
conduct himself with those around him and within the game itself. With more
and more foreign investment in the game coming from all areas of the globe
it is managers like this one that epitomises the skill, the drive, the
pursuit of nurturing creating and establishing clubs with a former pedigree
within the game to stay afloat and competitive against the more stronger
teams in the league.

Note to foreign owners... its managers like these that are in short supply
and that can make a lower or averaged size club into a giant.

To believe that he was capable of doing deeds like have been described when
at the time we had a chairman who was more than happy to accept Kia
Korbachainen, a self seeking little shit who not only damaged the reputation
of our club within the premiership but even now continues to urge fans to
believe in the crap he comes out with.

Harry's very under-rated as a manager, IMO.

If that was a gripe at me, it was very feeble Chris, and misinformed. If you
check the whole thread, all I did was to cut and paste a section from a site
I happen to like. I didn't say weather I agreed or disagreed with, a point
you failed to notice. Harry is a fantastic manager and no point was I trying
to reduce his name to slander, I was getting a topic started that could be
discussed with, hopefully, no body jumping to conclusions. BUT, if you
believe for one minute that Harry was a saint, you are being very naive
indeed. Harry was a typical Eastender and a fantastic wheeler dealer, which
is the reason we all loved him, but he played a large part in the club
almost going bust. He did a terrific job on the transfer market and his
record speaks for itself, but his wage bill nearly crippled the club. When
he left the club there were players like Scot Minto, Gary Charles and Javier
Margas all on big wages and not playing. At the time Harry was right for the
club, but I'm not sure I would want an aging team of ex stars finishing
their careers at Upton Park for a pay day as many of teams he put out were,
on the pitch at UP today. That is, in reality, what Harry did best. Look
what happened when he did have cash. We got Titi Camara and Rogobert Song.
Even now at Portsmouth, he is playing all the oldies (Campbell, Kanu etc)
and his big money players like Nugent struggle to make the bench. He is the
expert at getting a few extra years out of older players.
Harry made us all happy when he was at UP because of his honesty and was
very up front with the fans, but I'm not sure he epitomised the nurturing of
skill and drive more than any other manager.
But think we all united in saying that we hope he has a bad game on
Saturday.

You mean "libel".

What was written has been written elsewhere. he's entitled to sue, if
he wants.

He won't do that, because the defence can prove that these things are
true.

If you think this, you're not been around long.

Bollocks. He was great telly, but he's *not* whiter-than-white, let's
be very clear about that.
