Hi to all you Saints and shame you couldn't get thru the play offs. I'd
certainly much rather you were in the Premiership than those brainless
idiots from Portsmouth. I'm posting here as Everton might well be
moving to a new ground and I'm just interested in your experience

Any way, I've noticed that the fans of some clubs with new grounds seem
far from happy with it usually there seems to be a feeling that the
character has gone or that the atmosphere is lessened. I've been to St
Mary's a couple of times when Everton have been there and personally
found St Mary's to be a superb venue

I'd be interested in hearing how Saints fans feel about St Mary now
that you've had a few years there. Unfortunately its difficult to judge
in a different division but is that down to Lowe or did the new ground
play a part?

Personally, it took me about a season to feel at home at the new
ground. It helped that we were virtually filling it every week while
we were in the Premiership but, since we went down, there are
occasions when we've only got about 21-22000 and it can be a bit
quiet.

I think that most of us accepted that we had to move on from the dear
old Dell. Although it held loads of fond memories and had it's own
unique atmosphere, it was a becoming very outdated and the capacity of
15000 was a joke for a Premiership club.

I feel quite at home at St. Mary's now and, as the playoff games
showed, if the occasion is right and with a full allocation of away
fans, the atmosphere is probably as good as the Dell.

Lowe, enirely.

It took a while to set used to St Mary's; but when the crowd's really
behind the team, eg as in the last few matches of the season, the
atmosphere is electric. It's a really good experience; going to
Colchester last season was a reminder what grounds used to be like!

The second time was special as the first was too much quiet due to the
fact that the Saints were hoping for a win (like the Canaries) and the
game was very intense.
In important matches 90% of stadium have great atmosphere, in England I've
seen about 10 games and the worst was at Craven Cottage, when I had to
come with a friend I always try to go to Upton Park that for me have the
better atmosphere (in Italy there are a lot of supporters of the Hammers).
I'm an Arsenal supporter but at Highbury I didn't find a great atmosphere
(I've never been to Emirates), in Italy a lot of people talk about
Millwall but when I've been there I wasn't so inspired by the local
supporters...

Thanks for your replies. There does seem to be pretty much a concensus that 
St Marys' was a good move. As I said my own experience of St Mary's have 
been very good - I certainly prefer it to the Dell but I understand a 
degree of nostalgia about the Dell. I'm sure many will feel the same if we 
move from Goodison

Personally I feel Everton must move as it is the only way we can generate 
enough income to match those around us. As for the Saints at least if they 
do get promoted they are prepared ground-wise and that could be an enormous 
positive when it come to staying up

Good Luck for the coming season

PS Fabio. Millwall fans are mostly just a bunch of thugs who only turn up 
at games when there is a prospect of violence

Personally, it took me about a season to feel at home at the new
ground. It helped that we were virtually filling it every week while
we were in the Premiership but, since we went down, there are
occasions when we've only got about 21-22000 and it can be a bit
quiet.

I think that most of us accepted that we had to move on from the dear
old Dell. Although it held loads of fond memories and had it's own
unique atmosphere, it was a becoming very outdated and the capacity of
15000 was a joke for a Premiership club.

I feel quite at home at St. Mary's now and, as the playoff games
showed, if the occasion is right and with a full allocation of away
fans, the atmosphere is probably as good as the Dell.

Lowe, enirely.

It took a while to set used to St Mary's; but when the crowd's really
behind the team, eg as in the last few matches of the season, the
atmosphere is electric. It's a really good experience; going to
Colchester last season was a reminder what grounds used to be like!

The second time was special as the first was too much quiet due to the
fact that the Saints were hoping for a win (like the Canaries) and the
game was very intense.
In important matches 90% of stadium have great atmosphere, in England I've
seen about 10 games and the worst was at Craven Cottage, when I had to
come with a friend I always try to go to Upton Park that for me have the
better atmosphere (in Italy there are a lot of supporters of the Hammers).
I'm an Arsenal supporter but at Highbury I didn't find a great atmosphere
(I've never been to Emirates), in Italy a lot of people talk about
Millwall but when I've been there I wasn't so inspired by the local
supporters...

St Marys' was a good move. As I said my own experience of St Mary's have 
been very good - I certainly prefer it to the Dell but I understand a 
degree of nostalgia about the Dell. I'm sure many will feel the same if we

Personally, it took me about a season to feel at home at the new
ground. It helped that we were virtually filling it every week while
we were in the Premiership but, since we went down, there are
occasions when we've only got about 21-22000 and it can be a bit
quiet.

I think that most of us accepted that we had to move on from the dear
old Dell. Although it held loads of fond memories and had it's own
unique atmosphere, it was a becoming very outdated and the capacity of
15000 was a joke for a Premiership club.

I feel quite at home at St. Mary's now and, as the playoff games
showed, if the occasion is right and with a full allocation of away
fans, the atmosphere is probably as good as the Dell.

Lowe, enirely.

It took a while to set used to St Mary's; but when the crowd's really
behind the team, eg as in the last few matches of the season, the
atmosphere is electric. It's a really good experience; going to
Colchester last season was a reminder what grounds used to be like!

fact that the Saints were hoping for a win (like the Canaries) and the

seen about 10 games and the worst was at Craven Cottage, when I had to
come with a friend I always try to go to Upton Park that for me have the
better atmosphere (in Italy there are a lot of supporters of the Hammers).
I'm an Arsenal supporter but at Highbury I didn't find a great atmosphere
(I've never been to Emirates), in Italy a lot of people talk about
Millwall but when I've been there I wasn't so inspired by the local
supporters...

Thanks for your replies. There does seem to be pretty much a concensus that 
St Marys' was a good move. As I said my own experience of St Mary's have 
been very good - I certainly prefer it to the Dell but I understand a 
degree of nostalgia about the Dell. I'm sure many will feel the same if we 
move from Goodison

Personally I feel Everton must move as it is the only way we can generate 
enough income to match those around us. As for the Saints at least if they 
do get promoted they are prepared ground-wise and that could be an enormous 
positive when it come to staying up
