Horshoes firmly up their ass
You have to hand it to Strachan's team, they have the most incredible knack,
luck?? of winning a game in the final moments more than any other team in
football recently. Quite annoying if you hate them I like do.

They also seem to get more extra time added on than any other team
than any other team in football recently, which is also quite
annoying. Maybe i'm just being paranoid though eh !

Cant see anyone saying its an anti Rangers refereeing experiment, just
someone pointing out that celtic seem to get more time added onto the games
that they are playing than anyone else, apart from who they are playing at
the time of course. Just incase you choose to point out that there are two
teams playing every game.
Still say your point was a pedantic though, you knew exactly what Blue as
meaning and chose to be very childish in your reply. It would be interesting
to see how many games celtic are awarded 3,4 or 5 mins of injury time
compared to Rangers and how often those extra minutes have resulted in a
celtic winning goal. Does anyone have a stats site where that could be
checked out ?

So Celtic should stop trying when it gets to 90 minutes? Celtic play to
the final whistle, which all teams should do although some seem to settle
for what they've got before the game is over (Bayern vs United in CL?).
Is it posible more time is added as there is more free
kicks/injuries/substitutions/etc? Do all Celtic games result in more
injury time being added or just the ones we win? I agree with you though,
it would be interesting to know how many minutes are added on to all
teams games in a season. I wouldn't be surprised if it works out pretty
even.

So you must be saying then i take it that opposing teams are getting more of
an advantage than Celtic ? Because lets say an average of time added on in
most games is 3 mins then Celtic were ahead and Aberdeen at the weekend were
given a longer advantage to fight back. The anti Rangers point was tongue in
cheek as you know towards those paranoid of referees.

It was not pedantic,it was a stupid thing to say Celtic get time added when
its not true.As for stats i think there was only one game and that was last
season where Celtic scored later than 3 mins of added time, all others have
been within normal extra time which tends to average out at 3 mins.So sadly
another paranoia theory out the window.

I'll tell you one thing, it's completely fucking random how much time
gets added on, in every game, across Europe. I've lost count of the
number of games I've watched and wondered why there was so much or so
little injury time.

I would agree although it tends to seem to average out around 3 minutes even
if theres not been any real stoppage. But i would like to see the refs
explain or 4th official explain where it comes from because i have seen a
few games where theres clearly been an injury which has taken 4 mins or so
to sort out and possibly up to 5 mins to get restarted and the refs only
added 2-3 mins yet when really there wasnt much incident such as at the
Celtic Aberdeen game theres 5 mins added . Getting the feeling more and more
that i wish there was an independent panel sitting in a room that gave goal
line video decisions and also told the ref exactly how long to add because
it seems many refs feel they are untouchables (still believe they should
come out and explain decisions on cam after games too).

Spot on, and you rarely get anywhere close to getting the time back that is
lost to injuries/time wasting etc. We've had a lot of discussion about TV
replays and the like but changing to an external time keeper would be great
for punters, and the game in general, IMO.

Agreed. Its supposed to be 30 seconds a substitution but how many times
have we seen both teams use all their subs in the second half, a couple
of stoppages for injury and only 2 or 3 minutes added.
On the other hand, this new lot of referees coming through appear to be
allowing a bit more tackling and trying not to stop the game every 2
minutes (or maybe that's just my perception).

I'm in agreement here as well. Although games might end up running to 2
hours it would guarantee you got your monies worth and could possibly
stop time wasting on the pitch if they knew it was just going to be added
on.

FFS John, when you post on here saying things like "Protastant
(sic)/Rangers" then why are we to believe you can see a difference? You
hate Rangers yet you appear to claim Rangers and Protestant are the same
thing. Why would it be a huge leap in logic to assume you also hate
Protestants as well?

Like I said I don't hate anyone regardless of religeon or race and
that includes Protestants.
What is clear from these groups is that Protestants are by far the
most bigoted

Ok, humour us, how do you know it is Protestants who are most bigoted?
How can you tell who's Protestant?

When you see stats on time the ball is in play, it is generally something
ridiculous like 33 mins. So always wondered why we dont get 12 minutes of
stoppage time.
What are the rules regarding the ball out of play etc? I quite like the
American Football system where game-time is public knowledge and it is well
known and defined when the clock is stopped and when it is not stopped.
Whereas in football, it appears that its purely random leading to continual
controversies.

Aye right enough :-)
I would be fine if they reduced it to 40 mins each way and the ball was in
play for 40 mins. Right now, it seems to be anywhere between around 30 and
37 mins per half - I might be wrong, but those are the stats I can remember
seeing.

Generalising in that way about Protestants shows a bigoted mindset(and it's
not the only example from you).
--------Tell, me, Someone here said they hated Celtic is he/she a bigot?
Not because he/she 'hates' Celtic, just like you are not a bigot for
'hating' Rangers.

There was an experiment done a few years ago and it turned out there was
about 30 mins each way of the ball actually being in play. If they ever
tried this they would probably have to reduce the game time slightly, as
well as insisting players still get on with things between play, even though
the clock may be stopped.
Even without changing the time keeping system referees should be told to
speed things up. Some of the time they (refs) waste at corners, and
particularly free kicks, pisses me off. Then there are other little things,
like blowing for an offside 30 yards out, when the ball goes straight to the
keeper, for example. They should be told to play on and try and keep the
game flowing as much as possible. Another thing that could help to achieve
that is being a tad slower with the whistle, that could actually result in
less time lost to the match.

Don't they have '4th officials' and electronic notice boards to indicate
the amount of added time in the SPL?
FWIW, in my perception officials tend to end games very promptly when
there's nothing to play for eg one team leading 5-0, or an end-of-season
bore draw between two mid-table teams.
So when Aberdeen and Celtic are drawing 2-2 with at least one team
trying for a result, I wouldn't be surprised if officials allocated a
full ration of added time.
It's a common perception that teams like Man Utd and Liverpuddle benefit
the same way in the EPL.

Good points, not that I've made any claims about anybody 'benefiting'. I
just think we are all robbed as fans, and with some tweaks to
rules/attitudes, we could see a bit more action.
