A song sung by racist cunts for the last year or more, why did it take a
complaint by a Celtic fan for a statement to be made or action to be taken?
Arresting people for being knuckle-dragging racists seems more than a bit
OTT though.

Wonderful common sense response by the RST:

What an embarassment they are to Rangers.

Who cares? It's just a buncha Billys, doing what they do. They could all
gather at midfield before the game and do the 'Chicken Dance' and it
wouldn't matter.
Who cares?

Are you suggesting for a minute I am wrong? I am not looking for a prize
for stating facts. You really have to laugh at the supposed - `Old Firm`
supporters - and their `supposed` moral high ground adoption.
I say `supposed` as I have seen a trend in here where `supposed` Old Firm
supporters are busy on here commenting on issues 30 seconds after a match
has finished and clearly not from a mobile phone.
Celtic and Rangers will have a hard job ridding themselves from the stigma
of the `Internet Bhoys and Blues` who in my opinion are a bigger cancer in
Scottish football than any minority bigoted season ticket holders will ever
be. The internet has a lot to answer for allowing such morons and their
opinions loose in Cyberspace and their suggestion they are actually
associated to any football team.
There is certainly a `famine` when it comes to intelligent debate :-(

On a second reading of your post it came across diferently, at first i
thought you were trying to say that martin bain and fellow blue noses
fell for the wind up, which clearly is not the case.
I personally feel that it has been blown vastly out of proportion. I
mean lets face it, in one paragraph of certain newspapers it says
thast ONE person complained (thats ONE out of 60,000 ffs) it then goes
on to say that there were numerous complaints ! ! ! ! They should
make their minds up.
Methinks there is a wee bit of mischief making from the tabloids there
to stir up a bit of controversy that will no doubt be carried on to
the next OF game.

Now that is very Tim like, putting things onto record that I now like the
BNP when in fact I have showed no liking for those lunatics at all. you lot
never stop singing about being Irish, going to Irish bars, St patricks day
etc, you love ireland more than they bloody do, your club has deep set Irish
history and was founded to aid those fleeing Ireland of starvtion, it is a
wind up song, your over super sensitive moaning faced support are never
happy, your IRA chanting supoort feel the need to complain, but I do NOT see
you lot complaining about the glorifycation of mass murder on British soil
by terrorists.
Ok, tell me the diference between these dittys and tell me if any of them
are offensive.
The famines over, why dont you go home. A wind up to annoy Celtic fans.
The fantastically racist Flower of Scotland that wishes to send the English
home to think again.
The original God save the Queen, which wants to slay us Scots, presumably
your not Irish?
The Soldiers song, which wants to fight the saxons AKA English, sung by
thousands of Celtic fans weekly.
Oh ah up the ra, sung every weekend by Celtic fans.

Did you or didn't you witness it? A quick answer will suffice!
> Hang on, you havent been sending letters too Irsish consulates have you?
What - about you claiming - on a newsgroup - to have insight about a
serious assault - minutes after it happened - and before even the Scottish
newspapers had heard of it? Trust me - it isn't the Irish Consulate that
would be interested in that! Or the assault on Neil Lennon - which you
claim to have exclusive information on.
Care to explain?

Where did i say you liked the BNP ? As for the rest of your drivel it tars
the whole of the celtic support with the same brush,a bit like saying
because a minority of Rangers fans sing BJK it actually means you all do! I
think you will find there are plenty of Celtic supporters who are disgusted
with the idiots chanting IRA . Half my family is Irish but i have no reason
to support the IRA , and i support Scotland in all internationals and have
never supported Ireland. So you are talking total pish.

Och well if its only meant as a wind up lets sing about the holocaust down
at spurs and we can all have a good giggle! Pathetic.

Did you actually do history at school? And how the fuck is it Racist ?

Yes i find that shameful, and i believe so do the royal family hence they
dont sing it.

Ok this is a wind up again right?
> Oh ah up the ra, sung every weekend by Celtic fans.
A fucking disgrace as i have said many many a time. And a song of which many
Celtic fans hate too , bit like the singing of BJK isnt it.

Before you start posting such pish i suggest you look back over a fair
amount of time when both sets of supporters have been critical of their own
support.Rangers fans have been on here slating BJK singers and Celtic fans
slating the IRA crap. Fact is you came on here spouting some pish lyrics
about what Rangers fans will be singing and made yourself look a twat only
then to say "Its only humour" then spout off about typical tims putting it
on record that you like the BNP when that was not even said. You have just
made yourself look a complete blinkered twat over and over. All you can do is
tar every Celtic fan with the same brush. As for greeting to the press etc
are you telling us that no Rangers fan has ever complained to the press or
the police over things? Opppps another fuck up by your good self i suggest.

Sounds fair to me provided we can have Alex Salmond as Prime Minister
and you take that fuckwit Gordon Bown back.

I never sing that twaddle, but perhaps I'll join in now with: "God slay
our graceless queen".

Indeed Andrew. Well done Martin Bain, helping out the Rangers fans'.
Explicitly warning they may get done for a racial breach if they sing "The
Famine Song."
Not sure about this part of the statement though...
"The club shares supporters' frustration that offensive and wholly
unacceptable songs such as those 'celebrating' the Ibrox disasters or
inciting death threats to our players are sung by supporters of other clubs
on a regular basis with little or no comment or reprimand from any quarter."
I didn't realise the Nacho Novo song was being being sung on a regular basis
in the SPL. It's a shameful song but I've not heard it or read anything that
suggests it's ever been sung at an SPL game. Is Martin over egging the
pudding?

A good point that seems to be forgotten a lot is that hardly any Irish came
to Scotland during the famine.
The majority of irish immigrants came to Scotland after the episode and came
for work, the ones that did come were also mostly from northern ireland.
There are a lot of myths about why people came to Scotland, the reason was
certainly not the famine.

And in typical Traynor fashion he doesn't let his ignorance of the subject
stop him mouthing off about it.
He rattles on about how he doesn't find it offensive even though he admitted
that he didn't know the words to the song.
If it was just the line about 'the famine's over go on home' there wouldn't
be a problem, but it's the rest of the song that's the issue.
He's right about the pious hypocrites in the Celtic support, though. As
humourless and dull as they are two faced. Can you believe the wanker who
wrote saying that his two young children were reduced to tears by what the
Rangers fans were singing? First of all, they must have some kind of miracle
ears if they could make out what was being sung and second, some sort of
perverse education if they could understand it. Fact is they were most
likely reduced to tears by the horsing their team received - a result that
is not unconnected to the furore surrounding this song.

Lovely song, you must be proud - racist, point scoring over child abuse
which had nothing to do with Celtic and full of revisionist fantasy peddled
by the bigots on follow follow (classics like Celtic turned their
floodlights on so the Germans could bomb Glasgow when Parkhead didnt even
have floodlights in the 40s, you couldnae mak it up). And RFC have the cheek
to say its only a wind up.
Why don't they go home.
I often wonder where they would have been
If we hadn't have taken them in
Fed them and washed them
Thousands in Glasgow alone
From Ireland they came
Brought us nothing but trouble and shame
Well the famine is over
Why don't they go home?
Now Athenry Mike was a thief
And Large John he was fully briefed
And that wee traitor from Castlemilk
Turned his back on his own
They've all their Papists in Rome
They have U2 and Bono
Well the famine is over
Why don't they go home?
Now they raped and fondled their kids
That's what those perverts from the darkside did
And they swept it under the carpet
and Large John he hid
Their evils seeds have been sown
Cause they're not of our own
Well the famine is over
Why don't you go home?
Now Timmy don't take it from me
Cause if you know your history
You've persecuted thousands of people
In Ireland alone
You turned on the lights
Fuelled U boats by night
That's how you repay us
It's time to go home.
