isnt the game postponed?
I thought Celtic would have asked for the game to be postponed with Burns
death??

I find it very very strange they havent asked for this to happen?

Dont think celtic are going to request a postponement, dont understand it
myself. Infact i dont understand why all this weeks games were not postponed
coz TB's death will have affected more than just celtics players and staff.

Phil O'Donnell was in his 30s, prime of life and he died suddenly. Tommy
Burns has been at deaths door for quite a while, there is a huge difference.
Having seen a parent die suddenly and one die after years of failing health,
it is much harder to take when someone dies suddenly.

Are you saying that POD's death was more painfull to celtic than TB's, shame
on you zb, what happened to the extended celtic family way of thinking. All
deaths are very sad be it at the end of a long illness or be it suddenly and
ALL deserve equal respect to be shown, apart from when its some terrorist
scum who has killed innocent people that is.

Will be hard to play two days after the funeral but TB would have liked
Celtic to go out and win the league on Thursday. Maybe cos we're at the end
of the season. It seems to be much easier to cancel games in the middle of
the year e.g. Gretna, POD, Zenit, Rangers-SPL. Can't remember Tommy Burns
playing for Dundee Utd as well.

Nope. More shocking and probably had a much bigger impact on the players as
he was not much older than them and still playing plus he leaves a young
family who are not able to fend for themselves as easily as TB's grown up
family.

Paranoia nothing. Just admit it, you are desperately trying to re-open the
sick debate about Celtic using POD's death for their own gain.

Not at all mate, i have already accepted that we have bottled it and
congratulated celtic. Your team has done very well to claw their way back
into it and are now in a VERY good position to grab it off us, which i have
no doubt that they will do. Looks like the long season has taken its toll
after all, though i had hoped that that wouldnt happen. Never mind, roll on
season 2008/9 and another neck and neck race for the flag.

The only sicko i can see here implying that celtic used POD's death as an
excuse to get a game postponed is YOU, thats twice now you have brought it

The press conference on Thursday looked like Celtic were talking it really
bad. The funeral will be hard going on Tuesday.

You did in a previous thread. Is it that difficult for you to remember
things you posted from a few hours ago.

What's typical of me? Are you not capable of formulating opinions on your
own?

Why dont you just come out and say what you said before instead of taking a
roundabout way of saying it.

Truth hurts. But seeing VOR needs other posters to tell him what to think,

Another low. Using two people's deaths to point score.

I suppose it's been a bad week. Losing the Uefa Cup. Thousands of hooligans
causing mayhem in MADchester. And today they trip up in the league. He must
be having a hard time of it. Teetering on the brink of losing his dignity.

Starts about 6 lines up from here and says

**as he was not much older than them and still playing plus he leaves a
young family who are not able to fend for themselves as easily as TB's
 grown up family**

In other words coz POD left a young family then thats more important than

I said nothing of the sort. I said that it will affect the players a lot
more as it is more of a shock when someone dies suddenly. I tried to relate
my own example with my parents to make it simple enough. How on earth you
jump to the conclusion that "one is more important", I really dont know.

Why, are you incapable of having a multidimensional conversation? Is it that
hard for you to relate to something you said only a few hours ago that has
relevance in this thread?

That Celtic used POD's death for their own benefit. Anyway, no hard
feelings, you are obviously having a bad few days.

Strange, seems to be the ones who as soon as TB died start shouting about
league postponements when they know its not going to be allowed even if
asked are the ones trying out some very sick trolls.Fact is players still
playing is a major shock, especially when close family friends are due to be
playing. When Jinky died there were no major postponements because he wasnt
playing.TB was a friend to all and will be as sadly missed, but from accounts
players and coaching staff knew for a couple of weeks that things did not
look good and were able to prepare themselves to the possibility. With POD no
one had that chance. So can we stop all this point scoring crap over two
peoples death now, because some of the point scoring dsuring this season has
been totally pathetic!

Why is it even needed to be asked ? So that people can turn round and say
the establishments against rangers?Or that because someone died it
incovenienced Rangers chances of winning the league ? How fucking low ! If
you want the league so much that its more important than lives then take the
fucking league, because no matter how important football is,lives and
feelings of families in grief to me will always matter more!I would have
hoped Rangers fans after this week would have seen the errors of some
elements of their club (most luckily have) but i see theres still a few
wanting to drag the name of Rangers lower and lower without a care. Its a
fucking disgrace.

The greatest hearse chasers will never be allowed to use a mans death
to get a game called off again and Murray should learn from this
season.

Contrast & compare.

Phil O'Donnel a very average player (but very nice guy who met a tragic
death on the fooball field) who left Celtic ten years ago & hardly latterly,
even knew anyone on a personal level at Celtic.

Tommy Burns, Celtic to the core, came up through the ranks to be one of
their most revered, youth & first team player, manager & coach who rightly
attained legend status at his club, a man who lived & breathed Celtic,
worked with & was in contact with & loved by everyone at the club on a daily
basis until granted sick leave due to his illness this last couple of
months. Tommy Burns whose death very clearly had a very marked effect on the
manager & officials of the club, their very demeanour told the story of what
Tommy Burns meant to that club.

I think that with hindsight in the case of POD that it is an affront on the
memory of Tommy Burns that Celtic don't ask for a postponement.

On the death of POD yes most definitely in the case of Motherwell FC.

I too had a tear in my eye when I learned of the death of Tommy Burns at the
early age of fifty one, I always admired him for his very apparent humility
but not for his footballing ability which was tremendous, I can appreciate
true Celtic legends, but not while they are playing against us :~)
