Not SPL's fault
I think the SPL are getting the wrong end of the stick. After all, they did
try to help Rangers by cancelling the Gretna game. They did try to help
Scotland by cancelling the old firm's games before the big Scotland game.
They did cancel games after Phil O'D's tragic death.
Now however, they are suffering for allowing all those games to be off. They
came up with a solution in April but it only now that Rangers and everyone
else is complaining about the solution. I feel their hands were tied by the
likes of Celtic and others complaining about the season being extended AT
ALL to help Rangers, and in the end they came up with a compromise solution
of extending it to Thursday. They have tried to please everyone but probably
pleased no one fully.
Really, what they should have done is just tell the likes of Celtic, St
Mirren, Dundee Utd etc that the season would finish the week after the
Scottish Cup Final, and they can like it or lump it.
What can we learn for future? Don't cancel games for Champions League group
games, or for Scotland games, it didn't exactly work and it will create
fixture congestion later. We should only move games for the biggest of games
(i.e. UEFA Cup finals).

Why dont Rangers ask UEFA to move the UEFA cup final instead ? I heard a
rumour the huns are trying to get XMAS day moved wonder if there is any
truth in it.
play the games and win what you win and move on ,Man U did it in 99
Aberdeen did it in 83 extra games are no biggy really.

Everyone is having a go at the SPL, but has anyone got an actual solution?
The only solution is to cancel the Dundee Utd game, which means the last
round of fixtures for the top 6 will need to be played after the Scottish
Cup final which the other teams would never go for. So actually we should be
criticising the other top 5 teams. Agreed?

I dont think anyone would disagree Stevio that there is an actual solution
that would please everyone.Just isnt going to happen. The SPL are doing what
any business would do and thats trying to come to an ending with the least
amount of upset people. Its a case of do they do everything they can for
rangers and risk pissing the rest of the league off,or do they come to an
arrangement that may only piss rangers off ? Its damage limitation.
