Did anybody see the ESPN programme about Jimmy Johnstone last night?
What a player. What a man. In today's market he'd be worth £20 million
easily but you couldn't ever buy the man's class.
It was really ironic that on one of Rangers greatest ever nights, there's a
programme about JJ - and I don't mind saying the two things so close
together really made me proud of Scottish football.
And thinking about it, there is a LOT to be proud about - forget the
arrogance of the condescending English and their remarks about a Mickey
Mouse league. We're just about the smallest footballing nation in Europe and
yet in the past 5 years we've produced 2 UEFA Cup finalists, qualified for
the CL group stages every year and the last 16 three times.
No other country of our size even comes close to that. Fuck, countries 4 or
5 times our size don't even come close to that.
Don't know if I'm still drunk from last night, but I still cannae believe
it. UEFA Cup final. Fuck me.

Enjoy it mate. I can remember the feeling when we got to the final. It was
unbelievable. Even losing a final, just having attended a major European
final and supporting your team in it was an experience I will never forget.

When Novo's penalty went in, it suddenly dawned on me what you lot meant
when you said even though Rangers won the league in 2003, you still had a
smile on your face all year
