Sky Plus
Okay... so I finished work at 8pm this evening... My dad said he'd set the
fitbaw to record on Sky Plus so that he could pick me up from work, take me
to his, crack open the beer and we'd watch the game when we were ready.
(You can record something and watch it from the start WHILE its recording to
the end, for those not in the know).

So we did this, and 5 minutes from the end of extra time it cut out "End of
recorded programme".

I dont know the exact permutations or reasons for this, other than because
of the extended coverage, it was then treated as a 'new' prog, which wasn't
set to record.

Anyone have any experience of this happening, and any advice on how to stop
it from happening?

Given that we were basically watching the game a half hour in arrears, how
would we go about making sure we'd record the extra coverage? Just set the
next progs to record too?

Gutted that we missed the PKs, but we decide to just 'flick up the teletext
and we'll just have to accept the result'.

So stuck it on ITV and its Bazza giving an interview.. first words he said
were "Well obviously *sniff* we're just glad to get through to a major
final" .. so teletext wasnt required :-D

Who's coming to Granada studios to have their picture taken with the REAL
Chesney? Coz Strachin isnae going! :-P

Yeah i got caught out by this one before as i thought sky+ would stay with
the programme until it ended but it doesnt.Tell your dad this is what he
needs to do....

On remote click services :

Then Click option 5 (Sky+ setup)

In that you will see "add to start of recording" - change it to about 2 mins

Then below it youll see "Add to end of recording" - i have that set to the
maximum which is 10 mins (i dont record that much so the extra 10 mins means
i make sure of getting the ends of all shows).

Now because sky+ only gives a max of 10 mins on the end,if a programme runs
over for say ET during football sky+ i think will miss it anyway which is a
bit silly. So if its a match thats could go ET and penalties its best to just
work out the added possible time and record the progs directly after the
game too, that way your totally covered.

Cheers for the "add to" stuff Jon, and I think the recording of extra progs
is just a bit of common sense .. which it appears both me and the faither
lacked in this instance!
Thanks :-)
